LO will be 6-9 months old during the coldest part of the winter here. Overall, DC winters are pretty mild, but we have some very chilly days. Will I need some kind of bunting like this?

I'm interested to know too.
I have a 'snowsuit' like you have posted for LO (will be similar age), but I'm a little confused about what I'll need in the car. I know for tiny ones you can do the thing that goes over the whole carrier, but for medium infants to they wear the snowsuit type thing, as you have posted? In my prenatal class they said that if LO is wearing a puffy snow suit that the safety straps won't work properly in the car seat.

@cvbee: Yeah, I'm kind of a car seat nazi, and I don't want to be a hypocrite! I've been thinking that we may get bunting for walks/when we go into the city/etc, and just dressing warmly and using blankets when we'll be going in and out of stores/house/church/etc.

Um I think you need it just because it's pretty much the cutest thing ever!!!

I'm from Freeport originally so I wanted everything LLBean baby. I can promise you that you will not need that in DC. Baby S was a December baby and I took him out a lot. I barely used more than a blanket on him. You can put that on and then strap him in the car seat because it's too bulky. Plus, you can't use it for sleeping at night because of the hood. The only time I used a bunting was when we were back in Maine for a week and it was in the single digits!

We had one, I used it a lot when we went for walks, just zip baby up inside and plop right into the stroller. I prefer the ones that don't have "legs" on the bottom one, though, just a big round pocket. Much easier to navigate.
