They never said anything to me. I forgot I had earrings in and I remember handing them to DH after I had been there for about an hour because they were uncomfortable. My SIL wore her wedding rings and they even left them on during her c-section (my rings stopped fitting around 20 weeks).

They let me keep it on, but I've heard they do make you remove it if you have to go in for a c-section. In that case, I didn't want to have to rip off my jewelery and throw it in a bag somewhere and possibly loose it.
So I wore jewelery but nothing too special.

Yes. My wedding band stopped fitting around 32 weeks, but I did have on a sterling silver band and my earrings. They never said anything about it. I ended up with an emergency c-section, so I was in the OR wearing the jewelry and it was fine.

I wouldn't wear anything very valuable. The IV drip will puff you up!

I didn't wear any.
@Smurfette: I love that you answered in present tense. Hope everything is going well!

I had jewelry on the whole time until I had to have a c-section. Then they had me take everything off.

Depends on the hospital, but most don't care nowadays. I wouldn't wear rings since IV's tend to make you swell a lot.

Yes, but my wedding band and e-ring didn't fit anymore, so I wore a cheapie stand-in ring and had small earrings in. That's one thing I remember pretty clearly because my doc was asking about it during the end of labor to distract me, but I was having none of it. I told my husband, "YOU tell him, I'm a little busy over here."

They never said anything to me about it. I had taken my wedding band a few months prior so I only had a necklace on, which I ended up having to get DH to take off when I was starting to push because I felt like it was strangling me (and I was already throwing up a lot).

No one said anything, I think I took them off before pushing

@Smurfette: "have them on"?? AAAA that means you're in labor now right? Good luck!

I had my jewelry on during L&D. However, the NICU has a no jewelry policy.

I had to take it off. Not sure if it was when i got to l and d, or if it was when I was about to get the c section.

They never said anything but I look my jewellery off before I went to the hospital just in case they needed to be removed at some point and I didn't want to lose them.

If I am paying the hospital over $30,000 to have my baby there, they better DANG WELL let me wear whatever the hell I want!!! I will wear a bikini and a straw hat if I want to!

I started off wearing earrings and DH's old wedding band (mine didnt fit). My midwife suggested I take the ring off when they started me on pitocin. I had to take my earrings out when I went in for a csection.
