So, my husband and I have agreed to relocate to Chicago from Salt Lake City. I was fine with the decision, but now I'm having terrible reservations.
Our family is in Cleveland. We relocated to SLC almost 2 yrs ago and we absolutely love it here. Long story short, we agreed to move to Chicago. This would be a great career opportunity for my husband and we'd be closer to our family. BUT, I'm not sure that's a good thing! Our family was/is a source of contention between us. We generally get along well enough, but I wouldn't say we like spending time with our in-laws (both him and me). I'm just afraid we would be making a big mistake to move from somewhere we know and love to the unknown! BUT, I also want my kids to have a relationship with their family and it seems unfair to them.
What would you do?!!
Also we live close to my sister and 3 of her cousins and I really want my kids to grow up being close with them. I love my cousins but didn't grow up nearby and we really aren't close.
