We usually leave it closed but we are having central air issues. I left it open a crack tonight to see if her room temperature stays below 75.

Open just a crack until we go to bed, when we push it open a bit more.

Closed with her white noise machine blasting - don't want to wake the baby! Haha

closed except if her room hasn't cooled and i leave it cracked a bit to get some fresh air for her.

She's only officially been in there for naps and failed attempts at night sleep, but we usually close it until we go to bed.

kept DD's door closed until she was 2 years 9 months old. now we keep it wide open.

We used to leave it closed, but turns out, by leaving it open, we avoid a 4-5 a.m. wake-up. He must see it, decide it's fine, and go back to sleep. But if it's closed HOLY HELL THE WORLD IS ENDING. He can reach the door from his crib, though, so if it's cracked, he can open it all the way.

M's is open because the cat will open it if it's closed. It doesn't latch well.
D's is closed.

Closed! We have a cat who will go in her room and meow at the crib if we leave the door open.

Closed in the winter, half open in the summer. There's a radiator in DS's room, but no A/C.

Used to be closed. But as of this week he decided the door has to stay open or he screams. He's 2.5 years old. I think he is developing that fear toward darkness and isolation.

We don't have a monitor, so we sleep with our door and her door open.

Closed during naps (she's a light sleeper and noise will wake her up). And open during bedtime because on the few nites she has woken up she freaks out at the idea of the door being closed

@My Only Sunshine: i think this may be the culprit for what is waking my lo up at 4:30 am every morning. I caught him this morning and when i put two and two together that he could be the true cause of our 4 months of 4 am wake ups he was almost a homeless cat this morning.
From now on his door will be CLOSED!

We just started closing it-- the door was squeaky until my dad had the brilliant idea of using oil on it. Since we rent and it's an old building, dh and I forget there are things that can be easily fixed without asking the super for help!

When little always closed
But now they both want it open so I leave it open

Closed. She's be out of bed in a flash if it was open. Plus, we have a cat who loves her bed and he'd be bugging her all the time.

Closed if he's asleep and we're awake
Open once I go to sleep for the night.
pomelo / 5469 posts
Closed during the day and at night before we go to bed, then we open it.

Open, it's always open. But that's how we slept as kids, all bedroom doors were open.

DS's door is always open, but he's 8 and I'm not concerned with waking him up. DD's door is ALWAYS closed.
