We don't, but he doesn't really need it and he's so squirmy that it was a fight to do it (when we tried). Like trying to grease a pig, lol.

I do but only on her legs and thighs. She scratches her thighs a lot and they feel dry!

@autumnlove: we are suffering right along with you! Loves the bath, definitely does not love being lotioned.

We do a mini massage with California Baby calming lotion. It's part of our bedtime routine and I think he loves it!

We also do a mini massage with coconut oil after baths. If she seems really dry or has bumps, I do a thin layer of Aquaphor on those spots. I think K likes it though!

we do coconut oil massage, then bath, then lotion! not every night, but most that we do baths.

We absolutely use lotion, but we don''t suffer I have found that if I heat his towel in the dryer beforehand (I use a regular adult fluffy one not those thin stinky baby towels) it keeps him totally zen and calm after his bath. I can manage to sneak my hands in to put lotion on and keep him snuggled in the warm towel at the same time. He doesn't even notice! Try it

Yes if I can get her to stay still long enough for me to put it on her.

We do! DD has dry skin, and eczema patches on her booty so we have to make sure her skin is well hydrated. We're lazy about lotion with DS though, but he doesn't seem to need it.
My husband NEVER applies lotion and has baby soft skin. How is that fair?!

I avoided lotion at the beginning but now I use it and do a massage. It hypnotizes him. It's amazing! He'd be fine without the lotion too.

I only do in the winter when DS's skin is very dry. He doesn't mind it though.

Only if there are eczema patches. Otherwise, they don't seem to need it.

We always do lotion after a bath. It is part of my routine when I shower. I love DS skin bring so soft plus it helps calm him down for bed.

We apply regular cetaphil, the kind from the tub, because otherwise he dries out and has eczema patches. He loves bath time, but hates lotion, diapering, and dressing afterward.

We do lotion just on her face before naps and bed because she was getting rashes there. She doesn't like it but it's over quickly.

we used to, but he didn't seem a fan--he would get really squirmy and sometimes would start fussing towards the end. so now i sometimes lotion him with one hand while i'm nursing, or if my husband is there to read the bedtime stories, i'll sneak in some lotion then (but only if he has dry patches--otherwise i've been skipping it completely).
i had all these idyllic visions of lovingly massaging my cooing and happy baby with lotion after a bath every night. so not the case.

we do he loves his nightly baby massage! we've been doing it since he was born!

Yes we do lotion at bath. I stopped in the mornings though beacuse she's such a squirmy little girl these days

Yes! But she likes it and laughs every time we put it on her. It helps her eczema

Yep! It's part of her bath and morning routine. I can't imagine not moisturizing her skin in some way after a bath. We used to use coconut oil, now we just use lotion. Have to keep her ash free.

yep! after bath time, we dipe cream, dipe, and lotion/massage/aquaphor
pomegranate / 3401 posts
Yes! After bathtime....she used to not like it but I think she now enjoys the little baby massage I give her with lotion! Plus, the Mum and Bub lotion we use is so delicious smelling....I sneak some of it on myself when I'm done with her.

We always lotion up after a bath. If she's into it, we have a little massage. If she's getting fussy, it's a quick application and then off to bed.
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
Yes, but she loves it! While I am applying I always say the word "Lotion" repeatedly in a French accent (LohhhhhSHON!) and she thinks it is the most hilarious thing.

Every night, bath or not, D gets a little massage with Burts Bees lotion. Usually he loves it. I sing a lullaby to him, too, and he kind of sings along with me, now. But if he's extra tired or hungry, it's a scream fest.

Yes! After every bath! LO seems to be pretty indifferent to the lotion/mini massage . . . she get slightly annoyed when I lotion her arms because she is usually playing with something, and when I do her arms she has to go to all the trouble of switching the toy to the other hand/arm - lol! She seems to like when I do her legs and feet though. I do it because the air conditioning runs pretty much around the clock and it can be extra drying to skin . . . and baby skin loses moisture faster than more mature skin.

@autumnlove: I'm suffering with you!! We do both vaseline (Dr. recommended) and lotion/cream right after bath and LO screams bloody murder. But he has super dry skin and eczema so it's not optional. I dream of a soothing lotion massage that he would love .... not happening
Any tips?? He's so so so dry.
