LO will be 15 months old at the end of the month and she doesn't want to walk. She plays with her walker toys and cruises along furniture but rarely takes steps without holding onto stuff. She tried a few days ago and fell over like a little drunk on the carpet and she was hysterical after that. My friend thinks I need to call the Dr or something...should I be worried yet?

E is 12 months and won't even walk with a walker yet.... as soon as it moves she cries and sits down where it's safe.
I don't think she's behind on milestones, everyone moves at their own pace and she's probably just cautious. Is this the same friend that hates thumb sucking and feed ice cream at bedtime by any chance? lol!

My daughter is 15.5 months and shows very little interest in walking. She'll push her cart around and she'll stand up for a bit, but the whole step-taking bit? No thanks, she'd rather crawl.
I don't feel like she's behind, just taking her sweet time. She has great fine motor skills and is pretty verbal for her age group, for whatever that's worth. But I am anxiously awaiting for the day when she decides that walking is cool.

I think cruising at 15 months is a good sign. If she keeps it up, she'll probably be walking on her own soon. I would just mention your concerns at her 15 month well visit.

I wouldn't worry. The average age for walking is 18 months. It sounds like E is doing just fine!

i wouldn't worry. i know tons of late walkers that didn't walk til 18 months and i've never known anyone that didn't walk. olive only started walking with a walker at 15 months (she's 17 months now). she's always been delayed with physical milestones and i won't really worry until she's 19 months. the key is that she is continuing to make (slow) progress. olive is also very, very cautious so that's a factor.

My son started walking at around 15 months. Now, he outruns all of his friends!

My nephew didn't walk until sixteen months but he had lots of words and lots of teeth! In contrast my friend's little girl has only a handful of words, two teeth and is pretty much walking at twelve months. Your little girl is definitely not behind!

Sounds like she's just timid. I give them up to 18 months
