I guess the recent article about not starting solids too soon made me think of this but I have a friend who has a six to seven month old baby boy. While she was over recently, she commented on how much of a bottomless pit he was and then proceeded to feed him both packs of Gerber food in a two pack and then 8 ozs of a bottle! When she finished, she didn't seem terribly concerned by the fact that he then threw up on her four times and just said she needed to be sure to give him his medicine for acid reflux when they got home.
DH was around at the time and I remember us talking about it later that evening. Our son, who's 14 months old, eats more than that (obviously) but not much more than that. And when he was six months, we were lucky if he finished half of a carton of food and then some bottle, not two whole packs of food and then 8 ozs! It wasn't until recently that DS got up to about 8 ozs of liquid. Before that, he was eating comfortably at 4!
I know every child is different but doesn't this sort of feeding seem a bit excessive? Or am I over thinking this.
