We're getting closer to being ready to come out of our closed beta!
What do you think: Is the Hellobee site ready to be opened up? Any features you'd like to see in place before we open up?

I have a question - will users always need to log in to see posts (or will it be like Weddingbee where the general public can lurk and read posts, but have to log in to post?)

Maybe a "next" button when you're reading a blog post? This is very minor, though

@blushink - You only need to create an account to post or comment on the boards. For the blog, you can comment as a non signed in "guest".

I think it's ready and additional features can be added later on.

Mr Bee, the site seems to be running really smoothly, and everything is lovely and fabulous. It seems like the community is really growing! I love it.

i agree with blushink and anyonesays. i think there are some tweaks i'd love to see but it's not something we need to hold up the site for. this site is great and would be awesome to see some new blood and see what others have to say.

I think it's ready! I don't see anything at first glance that would prevent Hellobee from succeeding with the public!

I think it's ready to be opened up, and then changes can come as time allows. One thing that I think would REALLY help the boards explode once it opens up is some sort of tiered view of all of the boards. It's a little tough when you can either only see the top threads on all of the boards or go to the drop down for specific sub-boards. It would be great to visually see all of the categories at once.

I would love to see it open up and grow sooner rather than later. I think that there are changes that I would like to see with certain features, but overall nothing that keeps it from growing.

What mamadreams said. I'd prefer a more message board like format, something like VBulletin, where you can see the categories.

I love the community too... it's nice to see the same people commenting over and over...
but I do believe it is ready for public consumption.

@BABYCHIN - my selfish side wants to keep it to our lil' beta community.
But, honestly, HelloBee looks and runs amazing! I think it's ready for public use! As the community grows, I am sure Mr. & Mrs. Bee will be able to add on a lot of "bonus" features that members are looking for!

I agree with PP about loving our little beta community! I would wonder when pics will be able to be posted. That's one thing that I think would really enhance HelloBee.

I think it's ready. Sure there are tweaks that can be made, but there probably will always be. When waiting for perfection, you'll wait forever. I think HB is in amazing shape. The only thing I think people will hope for when they come swarming in is an app to help feed their addiction.

I can't remember where this was mentioned but do you know if there will be a fix for the 'control' and the 'shift' key issue. Or when I'm on a mac, the 'command' key.
Also, it would be great if clicking on a link in a thread creates a new window instead going right to it from the window I have Hellobee open. It's annoying when I go to look for my Hellobee tab in my browser and notice it's not up there because I clicked on a you-tube link.

I think it runs pretty smoothly. I have only been here for 24 hours but haven't run into any issues so far.

Spin-off from Twist's comment, is it possible to have a private and a public area? Maybe we could check off a box, if we want a thread or comments (maybe?) private.
The WB thing with the whole site being searchable on google kinda bothers me. Maybe allow the titles of the topics be searchable via google just not all of the comments.
Yeah, I know this gets a little hairy. Just a suggestion.

@bluestriped bee: That would be awesome. I love the idea of a private community or partially private community. I think it would make everyone a lot more comfortable sharing details about their lives and making friendships if it weren't so easy to google search everything and everyone.

We will not have a private area in the foreseeable future. However we do have plans for other ways to better serve the privacy needs of our members!
More on that later.
