All of my BIL's and my SIL are at least 22 years older than me! My husband was the baby by a good 15 years to begin with, and then I'm 12 years younger than him. A lot of his nieces and nephews are my age o.O

My BIL is 7 years younger than his brother. So, the age difference is about 5 years between him and I. It feels like miles of difference because he's opposite of his brother: unmotivated, still living at home, barely dated. With my SIL, she's a year older than me. My brother and SIL went to high school together and were a year apart school year wise.

Yes! My MIL remarried a man about 20 years her senior and my husband is 16 years older than me. His step-brothers/my SBIL are all between 50-something and 68.

@Littlebit: My BFF was a late baby from a second marriage (she's 28, her dad is 80-something), so she has half-siblings that are 25+ years older than her, and nieces and nephews that are older than her!

I'm 35, DH is 31. I have an 8-year-old brother-in-law. My youngest sibling is 3, so DH has an even younger in law.

Nope, my SIL is just a year older than me. It's nice since she lives close and we get along well.

One of my SILs is 10 (she was our flower girl) and one of my BILs is 14. In our family structure they sort of fall in more with our nephews. I actually forget that they are my BIL and SIL and not my niece and nephew!

Yes! I'm 26, and my BIL & SIL are 38. DH is the youngest, and I'm the oldest... so DH has 20-year old SILs (my sisters). My BIL's wife is 42. I tease her that she could be my teen mother

I am the same age as my DH so he and I have the same age difference from his sisters. One sister is 3 years older than him and the other is 6 years older.

Not significant (4 years), but they all think I am their age/older and so when age comes up for whatever reason they are always blown away each time at my age, and I just laugh! DH is 8 years older than me, so I think they just I am assume I am in their 30's with all of them

Nope! My husband is 6 years older than me, but my SIL is only a year older. My BIL is 2 months younger than me. Their boys are a year older than our son. It's so nice to be in the same place in life along with them!!

Yup, younger. DH is younger than his sisters by over a decade. I'm in my 30's & my SIL's are in their early 50's.

Not really, my sister is 4 years younger than me but her husband, my BIL, is less than a year older than me.
My SIL (husband's sister) is 3 years younger.

HAHA actually no, DH is the "old" one. His Bro, SIL, and I are all within a year of each other, he's almost 7 years older than us. I was friends with DH's brother in high school/college before I met him!

I'm 5-6 years older than my ILs. Everybody seems to be surprised when I mention my age; They think I'm 24. I'm not.

My oldest sibling IL is 3 years younger than me, the youngest is 15 years younger. Mr. Lime is 8 years older than my brother.

My oldest BIL and his wife are both 48 but they are young at heart so we tend to forget that they are almost 50.

Just curious - for those of you with SILs and BILs that are much younger than you, what do they call you? Just your name like a normal in-law would? Or does it become aunt/uncle, especially if you have nieces and/or nephews in their age range.

Yep! All my b/sil's are from 7-15 years older than me. They're always teasing me about being so young.

We're all between 25-32, but I'm 30, so none are more than 5 years apart from me.

@lovehoneybee: My sister is 13 years younger than I am, and I LOVE seeing how she & my partner interact. We're more like aunt/uncle to her, but it's a fun dynamic. I am sure once she starts dating, it'll be sooo odd (to try to relate to her bf), but as with most things in life, it'll be an adventure!

I'm closer in age to BIL than to DH; DH is 2 years older than me, and BIL is three months younger. (So we're all pretty much the same age)

DH is the youngest of his family, and I'm the oldest. he's also 11 years older than me. his oldest sister is almost the same age as my mum, and his parents are older than my grandparents! even his youngest sister is still a good 9 or 10 years older than me
I'm much closer in age to his older nieces and nephews than I am to him!

Yup. Huge, almost a forty year spread.
My eldest SIL is older than my parents. Her husband is a decade older than her, he'll be 71 at the end of the month.

Nope, DH is right in the middle of his brother and sister and I'm the same age. Between all out siblings we are 21, 22, 24, 25, 25, 28 including DH and I at 25.

BIL is only 1.5 years younger but SIL is 4 years older. Not a huge gap.
My sister's husbands are both about 12 years older though. -
