Have you tried just firmly saying "NO." and setting him down and ignoring him after he does it?

I was having major issues with DS biting me; I even wrote a whole post about it:

What I've learned id that I needed to change my own habits in order to get him to change his. So:

1. I used to let him chew on my shirt/sweater/clothes because I know he's teething and he likes to chew on cloth. I think he was sometimes going for my shirt and accidentally getting skin, though, so I stopped making that an option. If he tries to put my clothes in his mouth, now, I take them out, give him a burp cloth/blanket, and sit him on the floor.

2. He was mostly biting me when I carry him facing my shoulder, so I stopped carrying him that way. Now I carry him facing outward, and he has less access to my shoulder/arm and has to really contort his body to try and bite me.

3. I stopped play biting/kissing him. I think it's very easy for babies to misunderstand play love nibbles, so I stopped doing it all together so he wouldn't have the opportunity to misinterpret my affection. Now, I give eskimo kisses or butterfly kisses instead.

These things have really helped, and DS's biting has dramatically decreased. I think babies at this age aren't developed enough to comprehend physical punishments, but removing opportunities for their negative behaviors and then redirecting their energy seems to work pretty well.
