@petunia354: don't part your hair to the side! Or if you do, be conscious of what side it is, that way if the photog asks you to turn to the side or get a shot from up top, you won't look totally plain and bald.

I always look chubby in prof photos because the light washes away my blush and contouring, so I go heavier on that.

Also, try say go easy on the concealer because it reflects white. I have never had an issue with that though...then again, I cover my concealer with power.

Make sure to go a little heavier on the cheek color and lips. It tends to wash out in photography.

Also, avoid shimmer or anything with a sheen to it. Matte is always best!

Nothing with SPF! It's very reflective. And stay away from sparkly makeup or anything very shimmery--it's also weirdly reflective. Please do not use mineral powder. It'll make you look like a ghost. Liquid or cream will definitely do a better job. A DSLR will pick up *everything*. Everything.

But...yes. Go heavy. Give your hair a spritz of hairspray so you don't have a ton of flyaways, too. Wear some lipstick or at the very least, buff your lips. Chapped lips will be very obvious in photos.

Definitely do falsies. Mascara will look clumpy if you go too heavy. You have time to practice

Use a heavier hand with your makeup. I would do a full face, foundation, powder, and blush. Contouring and highlighting to make your features stand out more. Photography can flatten your face. Stick with matte. Darker eye makeup than usual.

I'm clueless when it comes to hair.

I like to avoid lip colors that are too light and also like to outline with a lip liner because my lips aren't full or pouty at all. Also the face, neck, and even ear colors should match.

I love this post. I agree with others, wear more eye, lip, and cheek color than you normally would and keep your overall look matte.

I am going to be practicing for our pictures, too.
