My LO has protested car seats since she was about 6 months old. She's 1 next week. I wonder how people get their babies to sit and not sob hysterically in their car seats/stroller. Do they outgrow their hatred of it or will I have to deal with this forever?
Is there hope?!! Do babies ever outgrow their hatred of sitting in Carseats and strollers?!

Does she face you when she's in her stroller? Maybe she misses her mommy. I don't have any advice, just sincere sympathy. I hope it gets better FAST! -
My LO doesn't like to get in the car seat but is OK once I get her in (although it can take 15 minutes). Stroller, hates it. So we haven't used it at all since she started walking. I am always very jealous of people who can push their kids around in a stroller versus having to chase them around!

I think it depends onthe baby and the type of seat. My nephew loved his car seat as a baby and would rather sit in his car seat at home than in his swing, but when they changed his car seat he didnt like the new seat,

Is she still in an infant car seat? Maybe it's not comfortable.

Have you tried transitioning her to a convertible seat instead of an infant one? She might be uncomfortable. You could try babywearing with a good soft carrier.

@Ardently: @venice4504: She's been in a convertible Carseats for 4 months now. Has helped a little but not much. We don't walk much and she's gotten to heavy to be toted around comfortably in a baby carrier. So it's either car seat, stroller or holding her in out arms.

Some kids get carsick too. I know in my car there's just going to be no way that our son will last facing backwards until 2 because there is just no air back there and he'll be very smooshed. You may want to think about flipping her seat around for a couple of rides to see if that's a solution. If not, you can always reverse face it again.

There's a stage where they hate them... Usually the later part of their first year up until 2 years old. I think because they love their new mobility skills (crawling, walking, running)... Of course that's when parents want them in strollers the most because they get sort of heavy for carriers and also are too young to be totally free roaming around sans stroller... Funny thing is, once they hit 3.5 or 4, they want to be in the stroller again so they don't have to walk that much. So no advice... Just that I feel your pain!
I have no advice on the carseat issue either since we don't use cars/carseats much now, but try to RF as much as possible for their safety. Maybe rotating carseat toys and singing songs can help? Dealing with carseat-hatred is something I don't look forward to when we move to the suburbs, but my hope is that the more routine it is, the more accepted it will become.

@venice4504: been there, still doesn't help. I am hoping it's just a phase. We ten to drive a lot so it realky sucks to hear her kicking and screaming.

My LO went through a small period of time (maybe a month or two?) where he hated his car seat. He protested whenever we put him in it. Then we moved it forward facing. Hallelujah! The protesting stopped. Not sure if you rear-facing or forward-facing but changing the position helped tremendously for us. We were initially very adamant at keeping the car seat rear-facing until two but just couldn't do it. =\

DH hated his infant seat! Once we moved him to his big convertible between 7-8 months he relaxed about the whole thing. You could actually see the look of relief on his face the first time he sat in the big boy seat.

Do you sit in the back with your LO if you're not driving? I find this helps for long drives. I also bring tons of toys and books to distract him...I usually have a bag of just car toys that he doesn't see all of the time so he's interested in them.
I do the same for the stroller, always have new things for him to play with.
Luckily, we don't have this problem, but we've got other issues, so hang in there!
