This weekend we went and tested out some convertible carseats. It's down to the Diono Radian and a Britax. The Diono is my preference, but it doesn't fit super well in our car. We can make it work, but it's a little long. The Britax fits better, but it's quite a bit wider and the sides are taller... making it a little harder to get LO in. We're thinking that we'll get a Roundabout or Marathon for now. Once we get a bigger car and #2 gets ready for the convertible, we'll probably move LO into a Diono and let LO have the Britax. Is that reasonable or is it better to go ahead and make the Diono work now?

We have the boulevard and like the extra protection and i thinknit wa smore comfortable when smaller

I like your plan, I have a radian in my car (a fusion) and while I can make it work safely I would much rather have a Britax that fits properly right now. It is such a pain every time I have to move the seat or, well, anytime anyone wants to sit in the passenger seat... I do think the Diono is a piece of cake to get kids in and out of but the Britax ones are not so much harder to make me want it less.

That sounds good. We actually had to buy a Britax because it was the only one that fit really well in our sedan, but it was totally worth it.

It's definitely important to ensure that your seat fits well in the car. A bad fit means a bad install. Marathon is a really solid choice with a good open design for ease of use!

@Thehistoryofus: The Diono would only fit in the middle. It fits well with the seat, but the front seats would have to be moved up some. Not a big deal for me, but more so for DH.
