So far, DD2 is later than DD1 on all milestones!!!
She's 8.5 m and still has NO teeth. She's barely even rolling over, not pulling to standing. I'll be lying if I'm not a tad concerned on the physical milestones.

@autumnlove: when did your dr start getting worried about #2?

Later on the gross motor skills - rolling, crawling, walking but much earlier on the social skills - clapping, waving, more words, etc. Basically they are just opposites!
Eta my oldest lo got first tooth at 10.5 months and younger at 9 months. I thought that was early!

@regberadaisy: 12 months. She started PT and EI shortly after that.

Earlier on physical milestones (crawling, walking), but later on communicating (no words yet, doesn't point or clap). He just turned 1 today.

Maybe dd1 was early on her physical milestones? By 8m she was back crawling, pulling up on furniture and cruising with her walker. I feel like we probably work more with dd2 on physical stuff because she's not doing anything! LOL

#1 was much earlier on everything. DS crawled at 6 months, got his teeth at 6 months, walked at 10 months and could string together some 2-3 word sentences at 18 months.
DD crawled at 10.5 months, walked at 12.5 months, got her first teeth at 12 months and didn't start talking in sentences until 22 months. She had words for everything but she was not clear until 2.5...I still have a hard time understand some words and she's almost 3.
DD2 is 10 months tomorrow. Her first tooth came in a week ago, she was crawling by 8 months, was cruising by 9 months and is almost walking now. She has about 6 words which is better than his big brother and sister.
Each child is so different!

#2 is slightly quicker on milestones so far. She's more vocal and was rolling and sitting earlier. She's almost 6 months.

DS is 25.5 months and DD is 4.5 months. DD is taking her time in her physical milestones, unlike her brother who was always very early with them. DD however, is right on track with her social milestones and loves coo-ing up a storm, more so than DS at this age.

DD did everything about 1 month after big brother did for gross motor skills(he walked at 10 months, she did at 11), but she is way ahead of him in terms of fine motor skills and communication. She talks way better than he did at this age(21 months)

so far, LO2 is ahead. LO1 was very content to just chill and hang out - LO2 has a totally different personality. She wants to GO!

LO2 is way ahead on the milestones, whereas LO1 was on the slower end for a lot of milestones, mainly physical and expressive language. LO2 is a determined, feisty little thing and she wants to keep up with big sis every chance she gets!

She's earlier, which is not cool because DD1 was really early with most of her milestones.

DD2 is way behind DD1 on just about everything except teeth. I really try not to worry, but it's hard!
@regberadaisy: My DD2 is about 2 weeks younger than yours I think (8 mos tomorrow). She rolls everywhere but doesn't crawl and doesn't even sit up on her own (she can stay sitting if I sit her up).

@Pancakes: haha she definitely does not get into sitting position by herself!

It had been mixed. Until 6 months, LO1 was much earlier on physical milestones. But LO2 started talking earlier with more "real" words than LO1 by 1 year.
Now though at almost 18 months, LO2 isn't where LO1 was at the same age in terms of speech, but I'm wondering how much of that is due to the fact that she is being raised trilingual and LO1 was only bilingual at that age. Physically, LO2 has surpassed LO1's level at the same age. She can climb on everything and can almost jump, while LO1 still needed lots of help at the playground and didn't jump until probably 27 months.
I wouldn't worry too much!
