Our yard is fenced!

Yep; one of the biggest must haves when we were house hunting was a fenced in yard for our dog!
pomegranate / 3272 posts
It is fenced on the sides and in the back but there's no gate up front. It's why I tell DH that we can't have a dog right now.

@snowjewelz: yeah, our dog ran away twice last year before we had the gates replaced...so stressful!

@autumnlove: Yep where I previous lived, we used to have a tie-out for her, but she has definitely slipped through the door to chase after deers/squirrels on numerous occasions and gave us heart attacks! I am so so glad that now we can just let her out and not even think about it.

Yes! We have a small back yard, and just a chain linked fence. Not the prettiest, but it was there when we bought the house. We have 2 big dogs, so a fenced in yard is a MUST!

Yes, chain link that was there when we moved in. We'd love to switch to a nice wooden fence eventually though.

Yes, we share a fence with neighbors on two sides and an alley on the third. Unfortunately, the fence really needs to be replaced so we're going to have to negotiate with the neighbors about replacing it. One neighboring house has a pool so they MUST have a fence, and we technically don't have to chip in for it, but that means we wouldn't have a say in how it looks. Not looking forward to the cost, but the fence is bad enough that it really needs to be replaced before DD is old enough to play in the backyard.

No, and I really wish it was, our yard is way too open. We have an invisible fence for the dog which works really well, but we need some privacy! We are probably going to put one up along our patio because the whole yard is way too much $$$

We have a disgusting chain link around our in ground pool. We were hoping on putting up a 6' stockade fence around our whole property fall. But won't be happening yet. Hopefully next year!
Our neighbors will hate us when we do.

My SO, dad and uncle just about broke their backs to put up our privacy fence when we moved in. We have a crazy dog so it was non-negotiable!

No. It's oddly banned in most neighborhoods around here. I think fences have to be low or see-through if it's high. Most people opt for bushes.

Yes thank goodness - one neighbour doesn't take care of his lawn (like.....covered in weeds and 3' grass) and a few doors diagonal have kids that are out of control (screaming and jumping on a trampoline at 3 am)

There's a fence, but half of it is white picket vinyl and the other half is six foot talk white vinyl, so it looks pretty hokey. We need to replace the picket part for more privacy and also to keep the deer out so we can actually grow a garden next year! That is, if we don't sell this place...but that's another story for another thread.

Nope. Not popular around here. People with dogs have invisible fences.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
Nope but the way it's set up works out nice it's not really needed

Nope. We have a dog, but she just roams. We live on a dead end and everyone's dogs wander. She never goes more than 3 houses over, though. You do have to accept that everyone's dog will crap on your lawn if you live in here. Luckily we all have an acre+.

Yep! We had a broken-down picket fence when we moved in, but replaced with a gorgeous 6-foot privacy fence not too long after we moved. We love it!

We have a fence around the pool (requried) and we have a privacy fence along the street side (corner lot).

Nope, but on our list of projects! I want a white PVC fence!
pomelo / 5000 posts
Yes, and I would hate to be without it. It makes life with a dog so much more convenient!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Nope. I'd love a nice raught iron fence around it but it's not something that is a necessity. One side is fenced from our neighbors, the back is woods and the other side has large bushes.

Yes! We replaced the existing fence last year and I love the way it looks!

Yup. It's common here to have fences. Even in the country there are fences to keep the animals in! Ain't nobody got to time wrangle in loose cows and goats, and ain't nobody wanna ram into a cow in the middle of night. Cow-1, car-BFN!!
