ours is not and we're looking to finish it this summer for playspace and inviting workout area (it's cold and frigid and a bad motivation to work out! :P)

I've never lived in a house with a finished basement! Our new house has a very open unfinished area so we will put that on the someday to do list!

Not yet, but we are planning to finish at least part of it this summer to make a playroom for LO. Our house is only 1050 square feet on the main level, so the extra space will be nice.
@mrsjyw: are you planning on finishing your basement yourselves, or having it done? Would love to share playspace ideas!

@Giraffe: i think the majority we're going to have it done... we have some major stuff that needs to be done by professionals, the divisions of areas/rooms i think we'll do ourselves

We have an unfinished basement. While it would be nice to have it finished, it's low on the priority list.

I was always sad that I didn't have a basement...but they don't exist in ca. I don't have a fireplace either.

Yup! I think it's a crime not to have a basement in kansas (tornadoes). I've never lived anywhere, aside from apartments, without one. Having it finished is a bonus!

Yes my DH finished it himself. It took 2 years to do, but so worth it. We are down here all the time. My home office is down here and my scrap booking space, our tv room and poker room. We live in a small bungalow so being able to use the basement is amazing!

our basement is unfinished and slightly scary. Super happy to have it though, it's the first time I've had a basement. Still, I wish it was nicer because it's the only place we can fit a guest bed and it's tragic.
