Our daughter is more reserved than a lot of other kids we meet up with. She is learning to assert herself more when she wants to do something but she definitely doesn't talk as much, nor as loudly as the other kids. Once she feels comfortable in a group, she is definitely loud and outgoing, though.

DS1 is super outgoing. I have no idea where he got it from, because we're definitely not so much.
DS2 is shy at first, and then warms up, but he's only 11m. We'll see as he gets bigger though!

T is 15 months and super outgoing. We will see if it continues. She stares and waves until people say hi, wants to be picked up by strangers, loves alllll the dogs.

DS1 always needs acclimation time. So he's reserved at first, then he's running wild and loud.
DS2 I think is more of the outgoing type from the get go!

DD is 17 months and super outgoing. She jumps right into any situation head first. No reservations.

Definitely outgoing. We usually get "she's not backwards in coming forwards" and similar comments.

DS is pretty outgoing. Sometimes it takes him a few minutes to warm up to brand new people, but he gets over it fast.
DD is achingly shy.

DD isn't shy, but I wouldn't say she's outgoing. She's extremely playful with people she knows, but she's reserved with strangers. If there's a fuss with kids in the playground, she removes herself from it and quietly observes. DH and I are both fairly reserved, so I'm curious to see where she falls.

He's shy at first, but then he really opens up and loves to talk to people. I was the same way as a kid - my mom said I would basically hold court at their dinner parties - sitting on the kitchen counter talking up a storm with all of their adult guests!

Outgoing. He'll go up to any kid and try to talk to them and usually they just ignore him! But he's also happy to play on his own.

I have one of each! DD1 is more reserved, until she knows people well. DD2 is a little ham and loves talking to everyone.

She's just like me: reserved, but zero issues with asserting herself when need be! (Ie when other kids are not sharing and it's her turn to have something)
She is EXTREMELY outgoing with females aged "teenager". She's in love with "teenagers" (roughly any female under age 25) and always tells them she likes them, etc.

N is 3.5 and knows no strangers. He is extremely friendly and outgoing.
E is almost 2.5 and is very reserved and shy at first. Once he is comfortable he is ok but still more reserved.

one of each! dd is reserved and hesitant until shes comfortable, then shes pretty social. ds is super outgoing, willing to just go up to a group of random kids and start playing!

Generally outgoing but now she does this I'm shy thing. I don't know who taught her that!!
