Mine is big time, I don't know much about them. I do know that some are cheap (my ds's Fender for example) and some are expensive (like the one my dh bought last night from his friend) OUCH!!! He has quite a few now, they're all in our family room along with the amps. This "new" old one is going in the gun safe though.
I told him he needs to clean house and sell some stuff to make up for the dent he made in our savings/budget

we both are into guitars a little bit, we have 3 now. but we dont buy the very expensive ones. I got for my affordable brands like Ibanez. we do have more expensive amps and sound systems though

lol - when I first went over to DH's apartment when we were dating I saw a guitar and got excited that he could play. Come to find out he got it for Christmas like 10 years before and has no clue how to play. It's upstairs in our new house and I call it his "show-tar"

@Mrsbells: I know even less about amps! This came with a massive amp, tubes are better apparently? The thing is loud.
I could totally tell the difference between his Les Paul Epiphone and this almost 40 year old Les Paul Custom. All other guitars sound the same to me though.

My DH is very into guitars and plays well. I also play and own an acoustic and an electro-acoustic. DH has three acoustics, a bass guitar and four electrics, including a very expensive old Gibson Les Paul. So that's 10 guitars in total! He also has a bass amp, two guitar amps and a Marshall stack (big amp). We also have a full drum kit (DHs), a keyboard (mine) and a harmonica! Oh and goodness knows how many microphones, too!

Yep! He's played guitar for over 10 years now, and looooves it. He's got 4- 2 acoustic and 2 electric. I'm trying to find cool ways to hang his guitars up, because otherwise he leaves them all over the guest bed lol. It's cute though, I get serenaded a lot

DH has a guitar, and he is VERY into music. He is more into drums, but we do have a guitar in our room I can't play though.

@Cherrybee: Thankfully he plays really well too
He was so excited that this guy was selling it, he just retired from my dh's work and wanted to sell it. He was almost crying, he was telling me the exact date and store that he bought it off the rack from here in Portland. It's all original, nothing has been replaced.
@Bookworm: He's hung all his acoustics up, so they don't get played with by the kids, it looks kinda cool!

@StbHisMrs: Aaw! Men get really attached to them, don't they?? We keep most of ours on the loft, including the Gibson, which never gets played! I'd love him to sell some of them, especially the Gibson as its worth a pretty penny, but its never going to happen! He'd sell a kidney before he parts with one of them!!

@StbHisMrs: Fender, cheap? How much? I bought DH his Fender a couple years ago and spent $1400. I considered that a bit pricey, but I don't really know guitar price ranges.

@MRS. LEMON-LIME: DH says this is about right for a proper Fender Strat. You can get cheaper ones, too, of course - starter guitars etc. Fender makes some great guitars though. My DH paid a lot more than that for his Gibson. Guitars are all over priced if you ask me - I'd much sooner have a holiday!!

@MRS. LEMON-LIME: mine is cheaper, it's a Telecaster. But the custom Strats can definitely get pricey!
We've both played professionally before, so we have a nice little collection but doubtful we'd ever add to it now.
@Cherrybee: all about the sound you're going for! I loved my Tele because it was perfect for the songs I was writing/performing, the right amount of grit

@MRS. LEMON-LIME: It's a starter electric, I think I paid $150 for it. And yes I'd consider $1400 pricey too, I'd never spend that on my DS that doesn't even know how to play!!
@Cherrybee: I'd really like for him to sell the one he just bought! Instead he's selling the newer one and keeping the expensive one. I ask him on the way home if he realized what kind of vacation we could take with what he just spent on that!
