What question do you hear a lot?
I heard about crawling for about 10 months but now it is all about walking!

With our six week old, everyone wants to know how she's sleeping!

@Adira: I play up LO 2's talking when our families pester us about walking....they don't seem to care!
pomelo / 5660 posts
Nothing. People are shocked how many words he has and how clear his words are. He's a chatterbox.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@autumnlove: haha, the crazy thing is that Xander is talking and has been for months, so I'm not sure why people keep asking about it!
pineapple / 12802 posts
A lot of old people want to know why he can't make full sentences yet... He's 15 months... that's why.
"OH, WELL WHAT CAN HE SAY?" lol. *sigh*

Sleeping through the night.
NO. NO THEY ARE NOT. Thank you for reminding me!

Walking - she just took a few steps for the first time this weekend.

She has been walking for 3ish weeks so now all I hear is "Is she talking yet?"
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
Walking. Or "taking any steps"? Sometimes she takes one or two so I'm not worried she just doesn't wanna do it yet & that's totally okay.

"potty trained"
I tell them she's getting there, and that it's because i'm a bad, lazy mom.

Talking
Yes he talks- but we are in EI so he can talk more. Oye.
@.twist.: YES~! SO annoying!
grapefruit / 4988 posts
They always ask how she's sleeping, which I find a bit weird (she's 12 months now). No one has ever asked about crawling, walking, talking, or any of that. Just sleeping. Hehe.

STTN. From everyone. I usually respond, "Are you?" because seriously how many adults get up for water or toilet sometimes at night? No idea why this is considered such a holy grail!

Crawling. Ugh. At 8 months He's just now able to sit up by himself (only for a little bit). He's no where near crawling. Bugs me.

@twodoghouse: yes, this.
It's always about sleeping. I won't even discuss it, because generally people's advice makes me a little stabby.

People ask if he is potty trained.... He's just shy of 2.5 years and not even close!
pomegranate / 3872 posts
Nothing right now! She's talking and running around but still on the young side for potty training. That'll be the next thing, I'm sure.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
my mom asks me everyday if he's walking yet. He's 13 months, he takes a few steps but is content to crawl...who cares!
grapefruit / 4823 posts
DS: potty trained...nope, not even close! (he's 2.5)
DD: talking(she's 14 months and has a few words)
grapefruit / 4712 posts
N: is he talking full sentences yet? (He is two, he doesn't have a lot of real words but he does chatter tons! Plus he loves making sounds).
E: is he on a bottle yet? (My mums sister seems to think a bottle is the only way to feed a baby. This coming from a women who has never had kids. )

Talking, I guess. He's been walking for a couple of months now.
I'm just glad that everyone stopped asking if he was sleeping through the night.

Talking. And yes he is but apparently only some of us can understand him. He has tons of words but they are not well articulated.
persimmon / 1343 posts
Weaned - or more specifically they ask "is she still nursing?". She's 16 months and still happily nursing 4x a day
pineapple / 12234 posts
@mrsjazz: reading?!?
They asked if DD is potty trained or talking more. She talks so much at home but seems to get shy and speaks in her own language while we're in front of others.

I am doing 5 day training classes, with new trainees every week. This past Monday, a lady I had never seen before heard me mention my daughter was nearly 2, and within two hours had asked "So, is your daughter off the bottle yet?" and "Is she potty trained yet? All of mine were potty trained well before two."
Way to make a great impression on the lady who determines if you get any scheduled shifts.
BTW, I would never make my recommendation based on small talk comments.
honeydew / 7589 posts
Weaned. Nope. And it probably will still be no the next five times you ask.
pomelo / 5469 posts
She walks and talks, so I keep getting minor things like "when will she sleep with a stuffed animal?". Oh and because I am a SAHM I get "when are you going to put her in daycare?" because apparently she is missing out if she doesn't go!

LO is 24 months and we get asked if she's potty trained, and I follow it up with a big fat NOPE!
honeydew / 7504 posts
It was walking for far too long, but now that he's mastered that, we've hit a lull in these annoying questions. D makes it well known that he's talking quite well, so that question never even makes it out of their mouths! I guess pretty soon we'll start hearing potty-training questions...
