It's a mixed bag - she seems to be doing better, but I still can't get her to understand that we give gifts to other people, and they're not all for her.

She has been quite good. The only gifts I have had out are all being donated and we haven't had any issues. We will see what happens Christmas morning. Last year she got a little upset when she was done opening presents and her cousins weren't. That really made DH and I upset! If she pulls that again this year we'll be taking presents away. Working really hard this year to start teaching her that it's also about giving. Especially to those that have less than we do. It seems to be sinking in.

He's acting normal. Doesn't seem to be affected by the season or really get that Christmas (and presents) are coming.

And Logan is 1, so doesn't get it either.

@Bubbles: haha my LO cannot handle that the advent calendar is only one a day. And it's not even food, just tiny wooden toys that you hang on a little tree. She always wants to do "one more".

I don't think she gets the idea of presents really. And she thinks everything she gets is from me anyway. My aunt sent her some gifts to open on st Nicholas day and when I ask who they were from she always says mommy. But she can't handle the temptation of wrapped presents under the tree- not that she wants the present, she just wants to unwrap boxes. She is almost 2.5.

Neither one have asked for gifts other than candy canes and hot chocolate so we haven't pushed that. Gifts will be a nice surprise. And we've wrapped up a few gifts to give others, one my 4 year old was playing with a bit while I got tape but she just said bye you have to go to your new family now. And really liked the resposibility of carrying the gift in.

But we have had a few late nights, which has led to some cranking but even before that I think traveling over Thanksgiving got them both cranky, this week has been better but I think it's more the added chaos of activities and visitors that throw them off.

They are both good and they didn't ask for much. (Besides a real mermaid and donkey)

LO is loving Christmas and has very little concept of the gift part. She just loves the music, lights, magic, etc. She's being an ordinary toddler but not acting entitled or greedy.

He is just excited but he doesn't seem to care about the gifts. He asked santa for shoes for baby brother and a real reindeer, lol. I think he's more excited about me having the baby than christmas but he's really into all the lights and trees and christmas books.
