Olive is pretty independent, but Charlie is not!! His new line to manipulate me in the mornings is, "I can't do the [jigsaw] puzzle without my best friend, Daddy!"
And like a true sucker, the first time I heard it I smiled and went over to help him... so now he repeats it every time. Ugh, gotta work on the independence!

LO is very independent. She doesn't like it when we try to play with her - it makes me sad! As long as we're sitting on the floor talking to her, she'll just roam around and do her own thing. As soon as we get up to do something else, she flips out.

Lo's pretty independent. She'll play on her own in her room for 15-20 mins at a time.
She likes playing with us too though. Just depends on her mood.

Yes, she wants to do everything by herself, which is good in the long run, but sometimes you just want something done quickly but she wants to do it herself. Patience!

My kids are the same. My daughter is super independent but my son always needs someone to accompany him.

Charlie is a smart little bugger!!
My LO is almost 9 months and far from independent. He can play by himself for awhile but needs me to be right there. If I step away for a minute he starts crying/whining and now he crawls up to me and pulls my pant leg! Ugh!!

DD is definitely independent. Like @Rubies, she wants us nearby, but she wants to play on her own.

OMG charlie is too funny!
My son can play by himself for 15-20 minutes as long as he knows somebody is within close distance. Usually he plays with his legos or puzzles by himself.

I think C is as independent as an almost 8-month-old can be. She likes to play on her own. She's not clingy. She will happily sit and play on the floor for over an hour while I clean or get things done. She always kind of been like that.

DD is also very independent but DS is much clingier. He hardly plays on his own (but he's still a baby so it's not a big deal right now.
