DD1 will only wear her tennis shoes lately and it drives me crazy. They're fine shoes but they don't look great with dresses or nicer outfits. I don't usually fight her on it because it's just shoes but man I really hate having a cute dress ruined by her tennis shoes!

Yes, so picky! We have 3 pairs of shoes in rotation right now plus rain boots, and she throws fits if she doesn't get to choose which pair. She almost always wants her rain boots...

I bought my older son an adorable pair of Stan Smith Adidas. They were not cheap but my husband has the same pair and I thought it would be adorable for them to have matching shoes. He won't put them on. Almost every time I manage to get his foot into one he starts to cry and says they hurt him. He's worn them twice to play in the driveway and had no problems but every time I want him to wear them somewhere public he refuses.

Yes and it's a problem because her feet have grown very quickly recently and she only has 2 pairs of mary janes and a pair of rain boots that fit. I keep trying to get her new sneakers but she always says they are too tight and that she doesn't want them. Same with boots. I'm not sure what we are going to do as the weather gets cooler.

Yes, I've learned not to buy shoes for her unless she gets to choose (from options I give her) or something ridiculous that I know she will love, like Frozen rain boots. She will often let me pursuade her to wear a particular pair if it's for a good reason- like she trips more in the rain boots and knows it so will wear the sneakers.
Her sneakers are also completely glittery so that helps.

Yes! She had wide feet, so over the summer she refused to wear any flats/mary-jane styles shoes b/c I think they were not comfortable.

DD1 (almost 3.5) has sneakers, 2 mary jane-type shoes, rain boots, and riding boots for this fall/winter. I mostly let her choose between two that I pick each day that are appropriate for her outfit/activity and she doesn't give me much trouble. BUT, she MUST wear one pink sock and one blue sock AT ALL TIMES. I gave up arguing about that one awhile ago! And at least this way I don't have to match up sock pairs out of the laundry
