During the day, LO seems to be satiated after each feeding and I know she's getting 3-4 oz per feeding (we rented a scale), but in the evening, she's getting about 2ozs and shows signs of hunger still. Is this normal? It breaks my heart that she's not getting enough sometimes.

It is completely normal to have less in the tank in the evenings. This is why often, babies will cluster feed (eat every hour or 2). Make sure you are drinking enough water especially in the evenings and are eating well all day.

Thanks @brownie, that makes me feel better. She did feed cluster feed last night, so that makes sense. Just sucks to see them hungry still.

@mamajaja: your milk is richer in the evening than in the morning, so even if she is getting less quantity, she is still getting enough nutrition.

@mrs.bee Thanks for the info! I remember you had a scale too, when did you stop weighing your feedings? I think I'm a little addicted to the scale, and need to wean myself off of it.
