I was certain that the hubs hadn't realized that Mother's Day was coming up so soon but it was confirmed last night when we were watching TV. A Hallmark commercial came on and as soon as it was apparent that it was for Mother's Day, I heard the hubs gasp and say, "Shoot." I was at the computer a few feet away so I think he was hoping I wasn't paying attention.
Oh boy.

I mentioned it to my DH and he said "you will not be gettign a gift until you give birth." Which I understand but a card would be nice! We have my birthday, anniversary, and mother's day all within a month...that will be tough for him in the future! ha

He knows because it's my birthday this year but I have to work. He'll be going to see his mom while I'm at work and then we'll do something birthdayish afterwards.

We walked by a sign about a month ago that had the date for mother's day, so I pointed it out. It's my first mothers day as a mom and I wanted to make sure it'll be a good one! He'll be recovering from surgery though, so we already celebrated.

My husband knows because we take my mom out to her favorite brunch place every year. I certainly wasn’t expecting anything this year, but apparently the other night MIL called DH and told him matter-of-factly “You will be taking Mija out for a nice dinner for Mother’s Day, RIGHT!” HAHA, so I guess we’re going out somewhere nice this weekend.

Dh and I talked about it last night. I know he's going to do a small memento thing since we're expecting, I'm going order a onesie from the detroit lions website, since LO will be here in the middle of daddy's favorite season! FOOTBALL SEASON!

I am trying not to have any expectations. When I was pregnant the first time, I didn't qualify. Last year, I thought I'd qualify but we had a disagreement in which he said he thought Mothers Day was to celebrate one's OWN mother. I had a horrible day, obviously, lying about and feeling sorry for myself. I tried to set him straight, but I almost don't care anymore. So, this year I am not expecting anything.

Uh heck yeah! I made it KNOWN. He said that if he plans something special for Mother's Day, I should plan something for Father's Day. But I told him that I'm pregnant now so I"m technically a double motha whereas he's just a daddy to one (technically since I haven't delivered yet. hahaha). He said it didn't make sense but wuteva...those are my rules!

Yes, I feel like we can't avoid it with all of the advertisements these days.
My husband who typically waits until the last minute to do anything gift related has been ready for the past week- not bad for a first Mother's Day!
