I think DH gets a bit dramatic when he catches a cold. He will take every med/drop he can, pull out the humidifier, mope around as if he is deathly ill. Lol, please tell me your SO is a baby when they are sick too!

DH just got sick, and he is the most ridiculous baby! He is miserable to be around! I want to shout at him, "Really? It's a COLD!!!!"
I tell him all the time he would never survive pregnancy.

YES, it's so annoying!!! He turns into SUCH a baby! For a cold!

I see it differently... I think a lot of guys feel loved when their SO is nice to them when they are sick.

He's pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. With that said I totally baby him though because I expect the same when I'm sick

Yeah, he gets a little over dramatic. Last time he was sick it was warranted, though.

@mrbee: I'm always nice to him, but secretly thinking that I cannot believe how ridiculous and dramatic he is!
Sometimes I call my daughter Drama Baby when she fake cries... Yesterday I named DH Drama Daddy. But I only told H that, not him;)

@mrbee: I am very nice to him when he is sick, probably too nice...maybe that is part of the reason he acts the way he does when he isn't feeling well.
@prettylizy: hahaha yes, exactly that!

@PrincessBaby: I play it for DH every time he gets sick, then I say to him 'poor little bunny' and he gets all pissy! lol!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
Um...so dramatic and he takes his temperature like every 5 mins!
pomelo / 5321 posts
Ughh yes!!! DH is a complete hypochondriac too. He's always coming down with something and is the biggest baby.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
Yeah... he tries to fight through colds, but if he gets a tummy ache oh boy he milks it!
grapefruit / 4800 posts
Yes, he wraps himself in a blanket and wants attention.
I wouldn't mind except he's not very sympathetic when I'm sick.

@Bao: o-m-g this couldn't be more appropriate! DH had my same cold, bit he was acting like he couldn't get out of bed. (ummmm, I feel just as bad you, so you can get out of bed and help me wrangle this wild child! LOL)

Nooo.....my husband is a freak and refuses to go to the doctor, and still goes to work when he is seriously ill. It scares me sometimes.
A week 1/2 before our wedding, he got the flu--badly, but kept going to work. Finally, on the 3rd day, he called in sick and I called him every hour on the hour because the night before I'd been making him alternate tylenol and advil every few hours and his fever never dropped below 102. In between doses, it would go up to 103.5.
He didn't go to the doctor until the 5th (!) day of having a fever, because then he started throwing up as well, at which point the doctor said that it WAS the flu, but he should have come the first 24 hours to get Tamiflu. He was still sick at our wedding, but at least the fever had broken by then.
Weirdo. Just go to the doctor already!

@Bao: haha!! My DH is the same as yours. He also calls off work for the smallest illness, but then again he really doesn't like his job!

@Sweet T: are we married to the same guy? Lol
He walks around the house freaking out and staring at his palm (what the heck?!) moaning "ohhhh I don't feel goodddddddddd". But heaven forbid if I actually try and figure out what exactly doesn't "feel good". Lol. Such a drama king
Then when he's actually sick (lol) he acts like he wants to be babied, but just gets snappy when I do. And he also refuses to ever see a doctor. Oh, and will take his temp every 5 minutes too

@Penny Lane: haha maybe! Your husband sounds very familiar!
He also loves to try to nap on the couch and then gets mad when I wake him. Um...when I'm sick, I still have a watch the baby. Get up and stop whining!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
haha! Yup! But the hubby takes really good care of me when I'm sick so I reciprocate the favor.
watermelon / 14206 posts
yes....he's soooo annoying. I have a fear that he's gonna have a headache or something while I'm in labor and I'm gonna have to yell at him to shut up. Usually I just baby him, cause he's sooo cranky when he's sick unless I do.
DS is the same way. it's gotta be a male thing.
pomelo / 5524 posts
My DH is actually really good when he's sick. I know that if he starts to get cranky or be a baby, then he's SUPER sick. He's only ever been that way once or twice.
persimmon / 1436 posts
Thank goodness DH hardly ever gets sick, because when he does, it's like the world is ending! He's so sweet with me when I'm sick, though, and I do believe he really doesn't feel good since it rarely happens, so I do my best not to get annoyed and give him all the attention I can.
pineapple / 12802 posts
Honestly, he would never admit it but he's usually very dramatic. I have in the past asked him if I need to take him to the hospital!
Usually when he's really sick or not feeling well he'll quote that nyquil commercial. "Pam.... PAM.... Can you call my mom?" haha
@prettylizy: makes me laugh every time!

@Prettylizy: I love that video. My sister shared it with me last time my DH got a cold. I later heard him tell someone he had the flu!
