I have always used a medium brush, but my new dentist gave me a new soft brush and said medium brushes are too hard. But what I dont get is, if medium and hard brushes arent good for you why are there so many of them on the market?

I always use soft! My gums are really sensitive. But I always buy Medium for DH, that's what he likes!

I used to use a medium and ended up brushing some of the enamel off my teeth
Now, I only use soft.

I think it's soft, I have one of those spinbrush ones but can't remember for sure.

I don't know! I use the ones my dentist gives me. She gives me two or three each time I visit.

We use Soft brushes. My mom gave us medium or hard brushes as a Christmas stocking stuffer. Those are now in the guest bath in case people forget their toothbrush.

Soft. I've always been told that soft is the best for your gums. Brushing too hard can really screw them up.

Soft...for the same reason as PPs. My SO's mom is a dental hygienest and said stiff bristles can damage the enamel on the teeth.
