We don't have much grass so I don't consider it to be child friendly....there is too much concrete back there!

We are going to take out the brick deck and replace with pavers/ grass combo after the pool is fixed. Mostly we play in front, but we live on a quiet one way street.

I like to think so, but we have a lot of poisonous flowers. Wolfsbane (aconitum), larkspur (delphinium), wood anemones, clematis, periwinkle (vinca), sweetpeas, my Robinia tree (pseudoacacia), daffodils, azaleas, rhododendron, poppies even pop-up in the lawn randomly.
I also plan in growing lily of the valley, foxgloves (digitalis), and wisterias, autumn anemones, which are all poisonous.
The more poisonous ones, I plan on moving to a higher area, but I there's so many poisonous common plants and flowers, I just need to always watch her and teach her not to eat them.

In a way. There is sufficient space for a child to play on either side of the gated pool and patio. But, one side is cut off completely from the house, which makes supervising from the inside impossible. That area will be off limits- maybe just for the dog and eventually a garden.

Yes, right now it's pretty much all grass. We need to do more with it though, we haven't touched it since we moved in! We also have a swing for her out there.

Yes, we have a great yard with big trees. Climbing them makes me nervous when he's older!

@Mrs. Jacks: You have a nice front yard! And your neighbors are friendly, so it's a nice play area.
Our new house has a great backyard with a swingset. One of the things at the top of our list was a big, fenced yard for the dogs and the kids!

Yes and no. Yes, since there is a ton of space. No cause it isn't level and I worry she would fall. So next spring we are going to level it and re-sod.

Yes, because the pool is fully enclosed. But we do need to add a gate at the top of the deck and a fence to enclose the side yard to the street.

Yes in that it's almost all grass, no because it's not fenced in and it's easy to access the schoolyard and adjacent flood basin/wetlands.

@Crumbs: We had all that stuff growing up. We were just taught not to touch.
I think my yard is pretty good - except that it's not completely enclosed, so I'll have to teach LOs to stay in the backyard.
