My husband and I joke before we go anywhere how many times we will hear "G-d bless you" in a store. I know people just want to be nice but sometimes it gets to be too much. My son loves all the attention so he always smiles when people approach him. Have you noticed this or is it just the area of the country that I live in?

I get a combination of 'double trouble'....'busy mama'.....'I wanted twins, you're so lucky'....and 'my neighbor/neice/sister had twins'. But yes, sometimes we get caught talking to people in every aisle! If I'm in a hurry, I try to avoid eye contact, lol.

I get, "Oh, you're so blessed!" and "You must be busy!" the most. I have yet to go out without some sort of comment. Even though they are becoming more common, twins are still somewhat of an anomaly, I guess.

I'm pregnant with twins and whenever I mention it to someone, I do usually get some shocked looks, followed by something along the lines of what others have mentioned (Bless you, good luck, etc)...
On an unrelated note, I am shocked by how many times I've been asked whether twins run in my family or not. Um, they don't but I don't really feel like sharing my infertility story with the world!

@Ms.SK: I never say anything, but I always think *man, I should not be feeling sorry for myself, if a mom of multiples can do it, I can too!*

The other day I saw a young couple going into the grocery store with newborn girl triplets. Each parent had a baby and their male friend was also with tending to one of the girls (which I thought was amazing). It definitely made me stop and think for a moment.

@Trailmix: ha I think I'm guilty of asking the heredity question to twin mamas (sorry!). Just make up a great aunt or something who had twins

@Trailmix: Good god, I get that question a lot. The thing is, my aunt and uncle had twins, but also because of IVF, so I used that at first when I was still uncomfortable with the question. I've taken to either saying, "Nope! IVF babies." as it answers the question that they are really asking. If you're uncomfortable with that, just say, "Nope!" and move along:)

We get stopped ALL the time! And yeah, the most common question is whether twins run in our family.
Like meganmp, I was embarassed by it at first, but I've just started saying they're IVF babies! -
@Trailmix: Yes! I get that a ton too. The thing is, we have some scattered sets of twins on both sides of our family, so I usually just say something about that.
It seems like people totally overshare too, and expect the same back! a la 'my daughter puked for months and was on bed rest and had the babies really early and here are all the details of their medical problems.....what about you? oh and did you have a vaginal delivery and do you breastfeed?' ahhhhhhh

My twins are the 3rd set born in 5 months in my family. When people ask if twins run in my family I tell them this. The reality is the first set are IVF babies, the 2nd set are Serrogate babies and mine are IUI babies (we have the "full spectrum" of infertility treatments covered).
@MsLipGloss: its funny you say that because I have to keep telling myself that at 7.5 months I can't use the excuse of having twins to stop me from getting out of the house. I keep saying to myself that if a singleton Mom can do it, I can also. -
@Trailmix: I hate that too.... I just say, not that I know of....
