I sleep in a nursing tank and panties and LO has been such a pill this morning that I never got a chance to put pants on. I've been either nursing her, or rocking her and pacing my house while she screams. I FINALLY just got her in her RnP asleep and put some pants on right away in case she wakes back up. This is my last week of mat leave.... I don't know what I'm going to do when I have to be dressed and out the door at 7 on Monday!!

First, I am sorry you are having such a tough morning! You are doing great to even put *real* pants on!
For your first day (or week), you might consider showering at night and maybe doing a low-key hair look like a pony or a half up/ half down for the day so that you will just need to get dressed and put on a little makeup in the morning (assuming you wear makeup . . . I assume you don't work at a nudist colony! :P) It might help to give you more flex/prep time during the morning.

@MsLipGloss: yup that's my plan. Shower at night and then blow dry my hair straight and get dressed in the am. I'm a non make up wearer so that helps. And I've mastered the art of nursing LO on one side and pumping on the other side at the same time. So that saves a few minutes too. And let's be real... The pants I put on are yoga pants. But they are clean and they count!! It's pouring rain and thundering here today so I'm not leaving the house anyway.

@MrsH: hahaha it's one thing to choose not to put pants on... It's another to have the choice made by someone else!!

@MamaMoose: even better if at some point I get to tell DH that the baby wouldn't let me put on pants :).
I think dry shampoo is always helpful for the next morning.

@MamaMoose: You can do it!! I thought it sounded impossible, too, but I'm surprised by how much I can get done by 7:00 AM. I second the showering and blow drying at night -- totally helps. I also picked out all my outfits (right down to the stockings and jewelry) on Sunday afternoon and lined them all up, ironed and ready to go for the week. It's so much easier in the morning if I don't have to think about what I'm going to wear -- there's also a lot of trying on/taking off, as I'm still not sure what will fit my constantly changing postpartum body.

@MrsH: you make a great suggestion re dry shampoo! I like to put a little in before bed (to keep any oil from accumulating overnight) as opposed to only using it in the morning. It really seems to work better that way (preventative versus damage control)!

There have been many days where DS and I haven't even made it out of Pjs. DH would come and smile and something like "jealous of the pj party" .

@MamaMoose: While I don't think that yoga pants are real pants for most people, for moms they are often the equivalent of an evening gown! :):):) There have been days when I've been in the same yoga pants multiple days in a row, and that was only because I slept in them.
