Ugh that sucks!!! I would've cried too

@Cherrybee: Wish I lived nearer! I'd be up for a night out!

@Cherrybee: Yay!! It's funny because before S was born I got invited to a weekend hen do next April and I said I wasn't sure if I'd be ok with leaving her... now I'm like, why isn't it sooner? Am I a bad Mum?! I like how optimistic you are that our babies will STTN eventually...

@Cherrybee: See I have no issues with that- he gets her to sleep better than I do! I make him do the put down after night wakings sometimes. I need to read some sleep books, I think. I don't know whether we are still in the 6wk growth spurt (6 days now) but I'm tired of fighting her to nap in the moses basket so she's napped on me all day and I've barely moved.

@illumina: I had a few days like that this week-- it was actually less stressful to just sit on the couch and get NOTHING done, just hold her (boob in sleeping mouth half the time) for hours. I would have preferred to put her down and do things like take a shower or eat lunch but when I finally gave in and admitted none of those things would happen, it was easier. Growth spurts. They suck.

@illumina: We just had the worst week of sleep in her little life, and then last night and today it's been great. She went down for three naps so far today with almost no tears, just gently drifted off to sleep as I bounced, and stays asleep when I put her down. This. Never. Happens. I find you always have a good sleep day or two after the horrible days.

And yes, enjoy the snuggles while you can, but I will never ever tell a new mom to "enjoy every minute". Some of the minutes are just not enjoyable, but you get through them because the enjoyable minutes more than make up for it. But no, no one enjoys bouncing a screaming baby for an hour!

@Cherrybee: We actually went back to the swaddle this week, for naps, and it's helping. So nights, the Miracle Suit int he crib, and naps it's the Woombie in the Rock and Play. So far, this seems to work. She also isn't rolling, but it's impossible to roll in a rock and play anyway. She can still push her fist to her mouth through the fabric.

E is rolling a lot, though, right? You'll get through it and then she will be a great sleeper. Right?

@Cherrybee: I'm right there with you. Tonight looks like it's going to be an extension if the rubbish day we've had. We started the bedtime routine after she woke up at 630 and it's now 815 and we can't get her to settle usually night time sleep hasn't been affected by a crap nap day, but looks like this one might be. Even Dh is frustrated... I don't think he realises what I have dealt with most days this week! Isn't it funny how they can be fine doing something in the day for sleep but not night?

@Foodnerd81: I had so many cards from parents that said "enjoy every minute" are you kidding? I will never say that to a new parent from now on! Yes I know what you mean- after the last wonder week we had a whole week of amazing sleep and naps. I take it C's growth spurt ended then?
