I asked him if he could feel the strings and he said no. Didn't feel any different to me. No side effects.

Neither my DH nor I noticed a difference. I have the copper IUD, so no change in hormones/libido.

My husband has never said anything about feeling the strings. My strings curl up around my cervix so really, there isn't much he *could* feel anyway. I don't think it has effected drive, children have taken care of that lol

I have the Mirena and it's been awful for me, but I hear I'm not the norm.
My husband can feel the strings - he's complained about them a couple times (of course, he told me AFTER my one month check-up, so I didn't know to tell her to trim them, grrrr).
My sex drive is non-existent now that I'm on the Mirena. Not only do I never want to have sex, when we do have sex, I don't find it enjoyable anymore and if I do have an orgasm (and that's a BIG if because it's so much harder now), it's weak and pathetic.
But I'm not the norm!!! I think most people do just fine with an IUD!!

I had Skyla and it did not affect my sex drive. DH never said anything about feeling the string. I had other issues with it though - bleeds randomly and now that I had it removed my cycles were wonky for a couple of months after.

I had the copper iud, so no affect to my hormones or sex drive. DH could feel the strings in the beginning, but they didn't bother him and eventually curled around my cervix.

I have the mirena and DH can't feel the strings. My sex drive is not affected. I just got on / weeks ago though and have been bleeding ever since. My midwife said it should stop by a month

I had the Mirena and hated it. My husband could feel the strings, although they eventually softened up. Sex HURT with it...possibly it was post-baby stuff, but I had it removed and sex stopped hurting. It seems like most people have a good experience though!
