@PurplePumps: i understand. We're lucky to have a few options here in Aus - but the price difference between clinics is maddening.
@YogiRunner: Beautiful numbers, lucky girl - praying for good fertilisation. xx

@YogiRunner: yay, lucky 13!
I have everything crossed for you for an excellent fertilization report. Anything surprising about the experiences or did you feel like it was what you were mentally preparing yourself for?
clementine / 849 posts
@Amorini: Thank you! The only surprising thing about the experience is that my clinic is actually ginormous and has a whole surgical wing that feels like you're walking into a hospital. And only one of the physicians do each day's procedure, but I lucked out that it was my own doc. The OR had lots of people, so it was a little overwhelming (nurse, embryologist, anesthesiologist, a tech i think)... but they talked me through everything and then I was out like a light. Then had a juice box and some animal crackers in recovery. Then I just relaxed on the couch for the rest of the day.
Got the fertilization report - 7 out of 13. In my heart I was hoping for more but I know this is pretty good news. The waiting continues, they call me tomorrow to let me know if we're doing a day 3 or 5 transfer.

@YogiRunner: yea for lucky 7!
My progesterone 7dpIUI was 48.9. I did femara/ovidrel and a second ovidrel 3 days after IUI for implantation support. The nurse said that typically, the progesterone in patients after ovidrel is in the low 30s. I had a 16mm and 18mm follicle two days prior to trigger. Does this mean I likely ovulated both follices? What are my twin chances? Thanks! (Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I've been expecting we're going to IVF in 3 months, and you ladies seem to know so much).

@YogiRunner: Yay for 7! Thinking all good thoughts for those embies and more good news tomorrow. Glad the experience didnt sound traumatizing (more than the overall experience already is!) I love that they gave you animal crackers and a juice box.
I got my tentative schedule... As it stands now, I'll start Lupron 9/4 and start fertility meds on 9/18, followed by ET on 9/30. For some reason, I thought the whole process would be about two weeks shorter. It's a long time before I start the stim phase. Does this seem about right to everyone or is too hard to say?

@YogiRunner: 7 sounds great! Plenty to work with!
@AmeliaBedilia: I don't know your twin chances, but that is a nice high progesterone. I feel like mine is always in the 20s, even on supplements. Fx for you.
Afm, I got a faint bfp this week! I am cautiously hopeful, but am resisting testing anymore bc I have driven myself crazy analyzing line darkness in the past and I saw myself starting to go down that path again. We've had two losses in the past year, so it is hard not to let the nerves get the bet of me. Beta is on Sunday.

@AmeliaBedilia: @Amorini: @MrsYellowJacket: @tequiero21: @YogiRunner: @winter_wonder: thanks ladies! Just took a digital and it does say "pregnant". Wondfos does not seem significantly darker but from my googling it seems that can be the case so trying not to worry. Beta is today and so hopeful for a good starting point.

@bloved: Wondfos are rubbish - trust the digi!!!! (Congrats chick) x
persimmon / 1479 posts
@bloved: yes, what @jaguar said!! My wondfo darkness fluctuated so much and made me paranoid. Definitely trust the digital tests!!

@jaguar: @winter_wonder: thanks ladies!
So the clinic called but only left a voicemail saying to call them back! But since it is Sunday it goes to an answering service. Cue a stressful and frantic hour of calling and trying to get someone but I finally got the results. 108 at 14dpo. feeling cautiously optimistic because this is my highest initial beta yet. Hopefully it will continue to double and grow!

@bloved: congrats!!!! yay for a great beta and cautious optimism! Go with it! So excited for you!

Day 5 transfer scheduled for tomorrow!
ETA: No idea how many of the 7 fertilized look okay right now, they just called me on Saturday to confirm that we can wait until day 5. Our plan was to transfer 2 if day 3 and 1 if day 5, but I wonder if we'll still want to transfer 2 on day 5 if the quality isn't excellent?
Also, going straight into work afterwards with a day full of meetings. Bad idea?
nectarine / 2192 posts
@YogiRunner: so excited for you! I don't know about meetings after transfer, but sending lots of prayers.
honeydew / 7230 posts
@YogiRunner: My office put me on bedrest for 24 hrs after my transfer. I would check to see if your office has a preference on this. I was given Valium at the transfer and was out of it for most of the afternoon. I would not have been able to go to work afterward!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@YogiRunner: 7 is a great number!!! And I'm so excited for you to have a five day transfer? How did you feel after the egg retrieval? And I plan to transfer two if I can. Probably the number of embryos I have will make that decision for me. I don't care about twins one way or the other really. My re put my sister in three days' bed rest after her 5 day transfer. But I've also heard about doctors who don't require any bed rest. So maybe just do what you are comfortable with or what your doctor suggests.
@Amorini: I thought the process would go quicker too. But it's great you got a schedule! Cd1 hit me while on vacation as I excepted. So now I'm on birth control. It seems so weird to be momentarily preventing a pregnancy, especially while on vacation.
@bloved: congratulations lady! That's a great beta blood test result.

@YogiRunner: I wouldn't have been able to work after my transfers because of being on Valium and another medication that I can't remember the name of. I slept for hours after each one.
persimmon / 1479 posts
@YogiRunner: I felt fine after my transfer. I think for me it would depend on how stressful the meetings are? If you can mostly sit there and not have to be "on" I think it would be fine.
Eta: I didn't have any meds with mine. But, my mind was definitely elsewhere and I don't know if I would have been able to concentrate at work!
persimmon / 1114 posts
@YogiRunner: Congrats! Seven is a great number and a five day transfer is awesome. My clinic is all about you resuming life as normal after transfer. They didn't even have me lie down afterwards. I felt fine so I definitely think you could do meetings if you were up to it!
clementine / 849 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: @twodoghouse: @Mrs. Pickle: @winter_wonder: @bloved: @jaguar: Thanks ladies. I got my boss to take on one of the meetings I was scheduled to lead, just in case- sounds like you just never know!
@agold: Felt pretty decent after the retrieval, nothing xtra strength Tylenol and a heating pad couldn't help. I hung out on the couch and tried not to get up too fast or run after the dog
persimmon / 1132 posts
@YogiRunner: wishing you a great transfer tomorrow! Go, embies, go! My RE will be giving me Valium, per the current plan. I thought that was standard but I guess not. I like the get-up-and-go approach but my job is unpredictably demanding so I will probably take the Valium and the day.... FX for you!
persimmon / 1132 posts
@agold: congrats on beginning BCPs. I agree it's odd to be on them. I am trying to "accept the chemicals in my body" (circle and bloom meditation reference ), which gives me a constant exhausted, cranky, crampy TWW feeling. Enjoy vacation!
Tomorrow is my saline sonogram and trial transfer. And I guess I get lots of time with the nurse about next steps.

@bloved: Congrats on your beta!
@YogiRunner: Day 5 transfer!!! That is so exciting fx for you!
My meds come Saturday (I'm sure that will be overwhelming) and I start stimming on the 31st of August. As of right now they have me tentatively starting out on 300 iu Follistim/75 iu Menopur, but I don't know if that could change after the baseline or not. Probably, the whole calendar is very vague and tentative.
persimmon / 1114 posts
So I had my follow up beta today. 204 (so not quite double which would have been 216, but they said good enough). However my progesterone is only 13.7 so they are starting me on additional supplements of prometrium to go along with the progesterone in oil. Of course the low progesterone is making me worried. I don't go back until next Tuesday for bloodwork and ultrasound (and the ultrasound seems super early...I will only be 5w1d. I've never had one before 6 weeks before).
persimmon / 1132 posts
@Carobee: big steps! Currently you are scheduled to stim a 2 full weeks before me. I guess there's so much variability in protocols! Anyway, I'll be following all of your updates closely.

Lots of new cycles beginning.. I hope this is your lucky one, ladies. I had a BT this morning to check on levels of suppression post-Lucrin (I've been on it a week now) -- hoping to hear either today or tomorrow about when we start our Puregon jabs. Can't wait to get into the business end of this deal!!!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@bloved: That's basically doubling so good for you!
@Carobee: that's great you are getting your meds! I started my birth control a couple of days ago. I will hear from my nurse later this week regarding my schedule. I can hardly wait.
@jaguar: I'm dying to get to the business end of this too! Like, it won't be real until I'm stabbing needles in my stomach every night.
clementine / 849 posts
@Carobee: Exciting! The box of meds is a little overwhelming, but I found it exciting more than anything (I was staring out the window for the UPS truck). Lots of luck!
@jaguar: I can't wait for you either!
AFM, transfer was yesterday. All went well and DH and I couldn't stop staring at the picture of the embryo. I had a hard time understanding the chart that the doc showed me with grading, but they called it "beautiful". One in the freezer and they're waiting to see how 3-4 others develop. I can't stop googling and I am currently extremely distracted at work
