@NorthStar: @GreenThumb: @AmeliaBedilia: thanks girls! The us was good! We saw the gestational sac and the yolk sac - ONE baby growing strong!!! I was only hoping to see a gestational sac so I was stoked to see the yolk sac. Not too sure if I should have seen anything else but I'm just trying to stay happy!
In other embarrassing news, my husband was with me today and he asked the doctor about the lumps I have on my hips from the shots. So doctor told me to have the nurse look at it after he left the room. So there I stood, naked from waist down, with nurse drawing circles on my butt! She's so sweet, thankfully, or it would have been awkward!
@NorthStar: It's so great you finalized your meds and are happy with what/how you are ordering! That's a big hurdle!

@jaguar: @GreenThumb: @bloved: @Mrs. Pinky: Thank you so much girls.
Merry Christmas Eve to all of you who celebrate it. You are all such amazing girls.

@agold: that's fantastic! I think that's as much as you can see at that point, but soon enough you'll see the heartbeat! yeah!!
I had an endometrial scratch today. not as painful as i thought it would be (thank goodness!), but certainly don't want to do it again

Oh no, girls. I'm celebrating Christmas Eve at my moms and I just went to the bathroom and I'm spotting. I feel like I may die. I don't know what to do. I had planned to announce to my immediate family tomorrow when opening presents with a "big cousin" shirt for my niece. Should I still announce? It feels silly to do so at this point especially with some grand announcement like I had tried to plan. What a bummer to an otherwise really exciting night for me and my husband. Please give me advice! Any girls who have been pregnant here - can spotting be normal while on a massive quantity of PIO each day? Or can I just assume I am miscarrying?
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@agold: Breathe hun! Spotting does NOT equal miscarrying. xxx Try to relax, feet up, keep up the prog support and keep on keeping on. It's all you can do!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@jaguar: thank you so much! I thought of you when I posted and thought "my Australian friend might be awake!" The first spotting was two wipes of pink. I checked about 45 minutes later and it was brown for two deep wipes (sorry for the gross description) and then it was gone. I'm praying so hard it means nothing. Husband convinced me to still tell my family as planned tomorrow and to still be excited. So that's what I will do, I guess. This is such a hard thing. I'm so sorry for all of us here who are trying to so hard to just get pregnant and stay pregnant. But I still have so much hope for everyone!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@agold: A wise lady once told me to say... 'today I am pregnant.' As some of us know, we can't change the outcome of a pregnancy, no matter how hard we hope, wish, pray - so celebrate with your family, rejoice in TODAY, and just breathe. We would all panic in your shoes -- but what you're describing can be totally normal, and often is. You have a miracle there!
(Also, for what it's worth - I never spotted even a tiny bit with my three miscarriages - so it doesn't ring true one way or the other sometimes.)
Love to you. Happy holidays!

Merry, merry Christmas everyone!
@agold: I agree with jaguar. Go bravely forward! Your numbers and scan say the babe is strong and the bleeding just happens sometimes. Don't let fear steal your joy.
ETA: Wasn't quite finished! Needed to add: Hugs and
!

@agold: spotting is very normal, I'm sure you are worried though. Do you have an on-call nurse you can check in with for some reassurance? Hugs to you
kiwi / 613 posts
@agold: I'm sorry about the extra stress! I had a bit of spotting early on in this pregnancy (like around 6-7 weeks), and am at 32 weeks now, so it doesn't have to be bad! Good luck!!!!
nectarine / 2192 posts
@agold: sending prayers that the spotting is nothing- your baby is probably fine and just something minor.
Tomorrow is our last full day in Paris. We fly out early Sunday morning, so I'm making a list of gifts and souvenirs we need to get tomorrow. Busy day and I hope I don't forget something!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@agold: Just chiming in to say spotting can be totally normal...particularly the estrogen supplements with my FET seemed to make me prone to spotting. Leave a message with your docs-- they will probably provide some reassurance (sounds like very little blood), but be happy to get you in after the holiday!
ETA: At least once, my spotting happened about 2 days after an ultrasound.

@agold: as others have said, can be completely normal to spot! your betas and scan were great! sending hugs

@jaguar: @Amorini: @Mrs. Pinky: @momazon: @AmeliaBedilia: @FliegepilzHut: @endymion4: you are are truly amazing to be posting support for me here on Christmas Day. Thank you so much. I still had a tiny bit of brown spotting this morning when i look for it. Your comments are all making me feel better. I'm just going to wait until my next ultrasound on Wednesday as long as nothing else happens.
@momazon: thanks for letting me know you had a little spotting and you are fine.
@FliegepilzHut: thank you so much for letting me know you had spotting after an ultrasound. I did have my first ultrasound on Wednesday and the spotting showed up Thursday evening. I'm praying that is the cause.
Thank you all for the hugs! I needed them and you all are great!! Merry Christmas to you all!

@agold: How is everything going? We've been away for the holidays and I was just checking in. As everyone else said, spotting in early pregnancy is super common. But I know it is still scary after everything you've been through for this little bean. Hope all is well!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@GreenThumb: Thanks so much for asking. I'm really struggling. The spotting stopped after a day and a half. So that's good. But I tested with a weeks' digital test and it didn't increase in the amount of weeks like I thought it would. So of course I'm feeling all doomsday about it. But I'm otherwise okay. (haha.) Ultrasound on Wednesday. I'm praying that it goes okay. Husband and I are leaving right after the appointment to go out of town to celebrate the new year. So I hope we can truly be celebrating. Please tell me how you are doing?
pear / 1986 posts
@agold: I'm sorry that you are feeling anxious! I know it is hard to keep those feelings at bay. But great news that the spotting stopped! Maybe your RE will do another beta to put your fears at bay? Or move up your U/S to Monday? And a trip for New Years sounds great! Keeping busy is such a good idea!
Nothing much going on with me! I also have an U/S on Wednesday and then hopefully start stims!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@agold: Lady, the digital tests are complete turds. Do NOT stress from those. I had them go up weeks and down weeks and terrify me with Georgia (perfectly fine pregnancy) -- and with the miscarriages, they went up & it turned out they were wrong. Ignore!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@GreenThumb: thanks again for your comments. I'm hoping that your Wednesday ultrasound turns out great and how very exciting to be starting your meds!!!!
@jaguar: ha! I always love and value your comments. Yes, the digital are complete turds!!! thanks for sharing your own experience with them.
I hope everyone has fun and/or relaxing NYE planned! 2016 is a new year with new possibilities!

@agold: Hope and prayers that everything turns out completely fine on Wednesday!! How was the reveal to your family on Christmas Day?
@GreenThumb: Yeah that stims start so soon! You're getting so close!
@jaguar: Haha. I'm checking in here tonight for some support, camaraderie, and comic relief ... so thanks for providing all three and chiming in about those digitals ... I feel the warm fuzzies.
Oh, man. This round of hormone suppression is really bad. Last time before stimming it was pretty bad, but this time is worse. On top of just puffing me up, I just feel super down and not like myself at all. Holidays are hard with all the kid things I feel so on the outside of and sure, in-laws always make things interesting/challenging, but my attitude is usually pretty buoyant and optimistic -- not totally dejected that it feels hard to smile. It's like - where did I go all of the sudden?!
Amyway, I'm supposed to start Estrace tomorrow so maybe that will help me not feel so in the gutter? I hope! I'm supposed to continue hormone supression injections (Lupron) for another couple of weeks, stopping not long before transfer. Hoping I don't feel like this the entire time. I need my natural positive vibes!!!
Also hoping, if I have to do this all again, that they can find another protocol without Lupron. I don't think I can drag myself through this part of the ride again...
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Amorini: The suppresion stuff is no joke.
I hope you can put that part behind you soon and get back to normal.
As for me, I have broken out massively since finishing the Provera a few weeks ago. The worst hormonal acne, it's just awful. As if I didn't feel gross and frumpy and miserable enough, hey? Now I look like my icon, except less cute. And only slightly less furry. Can't remember when I last shaved my legs.
So, I took the Femara a few weeks ago. Today is CD16 and no sign of O. Blatantly negative OPKs. I was really hoping to get a decent ovulation and then period early January... ugh. I even have a leftover Ovidrel trigger in the fridge if I felt I was close but no cigar... decisions, decisions.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@jaguar: Thanks, lady. Hugs! Ugh, sorry about the acne. I hear you on feeling gross, frumpy and miserable. I'm pretty sure the mirror is lying to us both, but I definitely get the feeling. Sounds like all of the signs of preparing to O. I hope your body tells you which way this is going so you can figure out what to do. Do OPKs always work for you? (They do for me 9 times out of 10, so I'd be stuck, too, if I didn't see them changing.)
apricot / 365 posts
@Amorini: so sorry you're feeling down! especially this time of year. Not too long ago, and fingers crossed this is the one and you won't have to worry about being on Lupron again!
@jaguar: Given how cold it is here, i consider my hairy legs just one level of insulation (except when I'll need to shave them for NYE--brrr :p).

I'm back safely. We came back to no internet (stupid At&T) and a crazy electric bill (we just started solar panels, and the bill which should have been under $10 is over $200). I just got the internet straightened out after 6 calls, and now dealing with the electric company. I'm already irritable with the micronor, so I don't need any of this.
In IVF news, I just took my last birth control pill. I start estrace tomorrow, and stims Saturday- gonal F 375 units and menopur 75 units. I've done gonal F before, but this is my first time on menopur. I ordered from Europe, so the mixing is slightly different, but I watched a youtube video. I had my meds delivered to my mom while I was away, so I'm picking them up today and then organizing everything. I plan on ordering the IVF circle and bloom and contacting my acupuncturist to set treatments up. Next monitoring appt is Wednesday for a lining check and estrogen level. Not sure what it's supposed to be, but we will see.

@AmeliaBedilia: welcome home!! Check to make sure you got all syringes (each med will have different ones) and everything else. One of the overseas pharmacies that I looked at didn't include those. Good luck!!
apricot / 365 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: welcome back! sorry you had to come back to a lot of hassle, but yay for the meds coming in and getting them organized to move on to the next step!
pear / 1881 posts
@agold: I wanted to pop in and say that I'm thinking of you. Would they let you go in today or tomorrow in order to ease your mind? I am sure everything is fine, but I know how the mind works.
@Amorini: I'm so sorry that you are feeling down! It doesn't help that this is a hard time of year as it is and then to have your hormones all wacky on top of it! ugh Perhaps some chick flicks or light hearted movies or books during this time would help the mood?
@jaguar: Why can't AF just come when you want it to and comes early when you don't?! I'm so sorry that you are in limbo and hope that you get a positive OPK soon. Is your CM showing signs of it getting there?
Ladies - I'm currently on CD31. Fertility Friend is saying that I should have expected AF yesterday and today would have been day 1. I seriously have zero symptoms that AF is coming. Historically, I am super regular and have 28 - 29 day cycles, but this is my first cycle post hormones. I'm going kind of nuts here wondering if a Christmas miracle happened and don't want to order meds for my next IVF cycle until I know for sure. But, I'm too scared to test. I'll probably wait until Wednesday to test..
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@Amorini: I'm sorry you are finding it hard to smile this holiday season. But try to squeeze in a little hopefulness about your upcoming transfer. A little hope can go along way.
@AmeliaBedilia: Glad to hear that you are back safely from Paris. I hope it was wonderful. And how exciting to be starting your meds and have your first monitoring appointment coming up quick! You are on your way!!
@NorthStar: Hi and thank you! I'm sure they'd let me come in early, but I'm happy to just keep the Wednesday appointment since I'm hoping it will be late enough to see more in the ultrasound than I did last week. Oh gosh, a heartbeat would be amazing. But I feel like this baby has already stopped growing and I'm going to miscarry it as soon as I stop the progesterone. So I'm really praying hard. I'm thinking about telling a couple of close friends that I"m pregnant (obviously way earlier than I want to) just so that they can pray for this baby. As for you.... I think you should test tomorrow!!! Is there any tax benefit for you to pay for your IVF meds before the year ends?
pear / 1881 posts
@agold: Good point on seeing the heartbeat at your appointment and giving yourself more reassurance. try to stay positive and hopeful for that baby! Definitely tell your friends if you think that they will provide you with more support to get you through this week. I'm holding out hope for you on Wednesday!
I can't decide if I am 'late' or not. ugh. yes, I would definitely have a tax benefit with buying my meds this week and I have it all lined up and ready to go. I just don't want to buy them if I don't need to! I'll see how the night goes and perhaps test tomorrow. I'm in the camp where I cannot believe that something like this would happen on its own (although, it did with our first DD). I am definitely in denial that I am late..I couldn't even eat my dinner last night. I don't know if it's because I bought a different brand of chicken or what, but I literally couldn't eat a bite of it.
kiwi / 538 posts
@Amorini: I did Ganirelix for my ERA prep and the nurse said it was pretty much interchangeable with Lupron for the suppression part of the cycle. If you are paying OOP though I think it's way more expensive.
@northstar: Fingers crossed for you! That would be awesome if you got pregnant naturally after all of this :). Maybe all the hormones jump-started something- who knows how any of this stuff works...
Still waiting on the results of my biopsy but we have our next FET scheduled for 2/4. I could have done it in January but I just wanted a nice break over the holidays to reset. I'm going to enjoy booze and caffeine for another week before I have to buckle down :).
pomegranate / 3764 posts
What do you reckon?
Fert monitor says high but not peak. Digi ov test says peak (strong smily, no flashing). Cassette OPK is pretty much positive. Cheapy OPK is allllllmost there.
And.. seeing these things (knowing I'm unmonitored), do you reckon I should use the trigger shot, or just hope it works on its own?
More decisions...
kiwi / 613 posts
@agold: If it makes you feel any better, the progesterone never stopped my miscarriages from happening- each time, I was still on the progesterone when my body let go of the pregnancy. My losses were so different than my healthy pregnancy spotting (the volume of blood was immensely more), so praying that your little one is still growing in there!!!
pear / 1881 posts
@jaguar: YAY! With your history and to make yourself feel better, I would just do the trigger and BD like crazy. Who knows..crazier things have happened! It certainly wouldn't hurt to do the trigger, right?
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@NorthStar: Yeah, I guess the trigger will just hopefully make SURE that whatever follicle is there will burst out an eggie, I hope? I don't trust my body to ovulate on its own, since it physically CAN'T... ya know?
pear / 1881 posts
@jaguar: Exactly! Your cycles are always super long and not predictable, so if you can manage and control it in some way, it might be worth taking the trigger. Good luck deciding!
