@NorthStar: wow, that's awesome! I finally got approved for a discount on HGH, but now I'm having trouble with the pharmacy. So frustrating! Driving that far- you're a rockstar!
@jaguar: I hear you on the freaking out. Everything with IF makes me super anxious. This is a safe place- we get it!

I'm having one headache after another with meds. The discount program keeps changing the requirements, and I found this out right after my backup pharmacy called and I told them to cancel the order. If I order tomorrow, I will get it Tuesday. I believe that's the day I start growth hormone, but it could be Wednesday. The nurse was supposed to get back to me about that and she didn't. The one good thing is Friday I have an acupuncture appointment 90 miles away, but the pharmacy is only ten minutes from there, so I think it should be ok, just more headache and more money. Then I found out winfertility upped their prices a week ago and then ivf pharmacy sent me something that they've got my order together and will get me a tracking number when it ships. Why hasn't it shipped already? I need those meds by 2/27, and the quote is 5-7 business days once shipped. It should be ok, but I'm so worried if there's another delay. I'm so frustrated- this is supposed to be the easy part. And with all this hassle, my meds are still $4500.
End rant.

@AmeliaBedilia: oh no, i'm so sorry that you have been dealing with all the meds hassle! It's just not fair..did Winfertility up their meds significantly? I guess that I ordered just in time.
With your pharm being so close to your acupunturist, are you thinking that they will let you pick them up vs shipping? That would be so nice and save on that hassle.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: my order was $51 last time and $69 this time. It's not a huge deal but when you've been having one medication headache after another, it feels more frustrating. I got the growth hormone ordered and will pick it up on my way to acupuncture.
In other frustrating news, I was waiting to hear my official start date on stims and was expecting 2/27 or 2/28. Egg retrieval is 3/9-3/11 and I politely requested to be on the later end. I was just told he wants me to start 2/26. This means I need all the meds a day sooner, and it sounds like egg retrieval will probably be 3/9. Ivf pharmacy just sent their shipping notice. Last time I received them seven days after that, so probably Thursday. It's just closer than I wish. I triggered on day 11 last time. What if I go quicker this time? All the set up for IVF is so overwhelming.

@AmeliaBedilia: Oh my goodness... I'm sorry that you are going through all this scheduling and meds mess! Ugh!
But it is so exciting that you are headed into this cycle so soon, right?! I'm sure all of it will get sorted out. FX so hard that this is the cycle for you!!!

@starry123: This is also my first post. First, congrats on your pregnancy and I'm sorry you had to deal with secondary IF. I wanted to take the time to respond to you so these other girls don't have to. This is an amazing support forum for people dealing with IF, not to discuss ridiculous studies. I would suggest moving your post to the news and opinion boards.

@AmeliaBedilia: Oh this med thing sounds so, so hard. I am hoping it all sorts itself out for you soon. xx

@starry123: like @Adisho: stated, I don't think this is the place for posts like yours. We here are a supportive, uplifting group who would pretty much give anything to have a child. We have gone to the ends of the earth to have a family and have put everything we have (body, mind, soul, finances, relationships, homes, retirements....the list goes on and on) in jeopardy to make that dream happen. Anyone can find a study saying just about anything on the Internet and while I have no idea if there is any merit to the study, I also have NO interest in finding out. I'm sorry if this is blunt but I'll speak for everyone here saying we aren't interested in any negativity towards IVF. And while we're at it, the "test tube baby" phrase isn't exactly positive either. We've put aside our dreams of having a child "naturally" and don't need any extra stigma placed on our methods.
Again, sorry if your intentions are good, but not here, please.

@starry123: I'm not sure if this is a real post or not- I'm having a hard time believing that anyone that has gone through IVF would post this. But FWIW I wouldn't click on anything that refers to IVF babies as "test tube babies". I highly doubt any reputable scientist would use an insanely offensive term like that in 2016.

Mrs. Pinky I am not a troll and as I stated it was not my intention to offend anyone. I do not take infertility lightly having gone through it myself. I have been reading what you guys go through for awhile now. I deleted the post, I thought this board was where we share everything regarding IVF. Once again I apologize for going to the wrong board posting this.

@AmeliaBedilia: I hope you get everything sorted out and that the meds come in time.
I don't know if you saw this post, but can you respond to this poster regarding the pharm you used?

@NorthStar: I have everything but the ivf pharmacy order. Fingers crossed! I replied to the other thread. When do you start? I start estrogen and HGH Monday, stims Friday.
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: Thanks! I have my baseline ultrasound next Sunday and then start stims on Monday the 29th. I'm currently on birth control pills, which I will stop on Wednesday. It's getting close for both of us !
nectarine / 2192 posts
Tomorrow starts with a bang. Estrace (big deal because it often gives me migraines), growth hormone injections, and my suppression ultrasound. My stims start Friday and I'm expecting the rest of my meds to arrive Wednesday-Friday. Buying more that I can get overnight will be a lot more expensive so I'm praying they get here in time. I'm having a bit of a freak out. I really don't want to do this again, and I really hate monitoring appointments because I feel like I always get bad news. I had a dream where I woke up from egg retrieval and we got ten eggs, which would be ok, but I'm hoping with $2000 worth of HGH, that we get closer to 15. I've been on the verge of tears all morning and it's just so hard. Going into a known freeze all is hard too- after everything, I know that there is zero chance of being pregnant in a month.
In other news, we've been working on setting up part of our new house. The back three rooms and one bathroom are finished and we are planning on moving into that. Yesterday we got a bunch of stuff moved and set up. The tentative plan is to stay there tomorrow night. I'm not sure whether moving now or moving later will be better. The sooner we move out, the sooner we can get our old house staged and sold. Paying for two mortgages, a renovation and ivf have been tough.

anyone who has used metformin and heparin/lovenox for FET--would you mind sharing your dosage and when you started/stopped? thanks!

Hi ladies. It's been a while since I checked in here. Had to step back from it all for a little.
@AmeliaBedilia: I hope your meds get here in time! I wish I had been smart enough to order meds earlier since I'd know for months I would cycle in Feb, but by the time I thought about getting meds a week before my cycle it was way too late.
AFM... I had my egg retrieval this morning. A 2 hour drive to the clinic with no food or coffee was rough! They got 20 eggs, 7 were mature. Only 35% compared to a "normal" 80%, but 7 is more than the 3-4 I've had previously. There were 7 more M1s that they hope they can mature in the lab. And the last 6 were hopeless GVs. Will be getting the fertilization report tomorrow and then see about a 3 or 5 transfer. I've never made it to 5, so I'm hoping at least one of these 7 might be it.

@endymion4: I'm headed into my WTF appointment with my RE on Thursday. We'll be doing an FET (likely April) and at this point, I have been told to stay on my metformin (currently on 500 mg 3x a day - through 1st trimester/ask OB when to end) and will be starting up with my Lovenox (40 mg/0.4 mL 1x a day - throughout a pregnancy) when I start estrogen support. I will let you know if anything changes based on feedback from my RE.
@AmeliaBedilia: Wishing you so, so, so much success this cycle.
@PurplePumps: Oh wow! That sounds like a really great start! Congratulations! Hoping to hear about a great fertilization report for you!!
apricot / 365 posts
@PurplePumps: will be thinking of you as you await your fertilization report!
@GreenThumb: yes, please let me know! i'm charting my own course with this last transfer (probably april or june) before we decide whether to throw in the towel or do a fresh cycle with a new RE. Have my ERA biopsy tomorrow

Only 1 of my M1's went on to mature, but fertilized abnormally. The 7 that were mature all fertilized normally though, so we have those to work with. We're hoping to push to a day 5 xfer.

@AmeliaBedilia: I'm so sorry you're so stressed. Hopefully you get your meds in time and it'll be a calm start to this next cycle. As for the HGH; try not to think so much about "more" but in terms of better quality. We ended up with more eggs at retrieval, and a few extra fertilized, but on day 5 we actually had less that made it than when we didn't use HGH. However the quality was night and day better. If numbers are higher, that's awesome...but try to focus on quality. It only takes one!!!

@PurplePumps: Congratulations!!!! FX for a great 3 day report and even a possible 5 day! Sounds like this cycle is continuing to be positive.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@PurplePumps: that is awesome! You popped in my mind yesterday- so weird it was in egg retrieval day. What was your dose of HGH and when did you do it? Did you do anything else differently? My first cycle I had 11 follicles, 8 eggs, 6 mature. We're increasing Menopur, adding HGH and doing a freeze all for round 2. I start HGH tonight- 2.9mg daily starting four days before stims.
@waiting4you: thanks for the insight. I'm trying to just leave it to my doc but it's hard. If we don't get many, we might do a third stim cycle freeze all- praying we get enough that we don't need to.
I had a suppression check today- I have a cyst that he doesn't think will be problematic, but I have to come back Friday to recheck. Follicle count was in 15-20 range. RE estimated 2-6 embryos, and said it is very hard to predict. He said odds of successful transfer are still around 50% since we will add in lovenox. We will also see if the reproductive immunologist has any further recommendations.
Ivf pharmacy tracking is behind as always. It just updated that it was processed through facility in Israel 2/20. If it comes the same time as last time, it should be thursday. Fingers crossed- I don't want to buy 6 extra Menopur vials and 3 follistim 300 cartridges!
pear / 1986 posts
@PurplePumps: So 8 total all fertilized naturally?! Thats amazing!! I am so excited for you! Who did you end up working with for this cycle? FX for a day 5 for you!!
@endymion4: I'll definitely let you know what the RE says. Wishing you all the best with the biopsy today! When will you get the results?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I did 20 units a day starting on day 1 of stims for 10 days. I had omnitrope 5.8 mg diluted with 1cc for 5 days, so I guess about 1.16 mg/day? I also started ganerlix pretty on day 3, and added low dose HCG. My doc said it was the same effect as the LH in menopur. In the past, my previous doctor had always lowered my dosage of FSH every few days too, but this time I kept the same dose the entire 11 days of stims... and had an extra dose even the morning of the trigger. So a number of changes...
@GreenThumb: I ended up going to SIRM CT. But sadly, they are closing that office next month. Hopefully I wont need to, but my doctor will probably end up in NYC area again and I would just follow him there.

@PurplePumps: thanks! That is so helpful and reassuring to hear someone with somewhat similar issues have significant improvement. I'm so happy for you. Sending prayers that your embryos grow!

@AmeliaBedilia: @NorthStar: Yay! Excited by all of these upcoming cycles!
@PurplePumps: What an amazing update! So excited for you and FX that things continue to go amazingly well.
@endymion4: Good luck on your biopsy! Hope it's pain-free and gives some answers for next steps.
@GreenThumb: Good luck for Thursday. Hopefully they will have some good ideas. I know it seems hard to imagine but Feb is almost over and April will be here soon!

@endymion4: Glad everything went well today and you'll have the results soon!
@Amorini: Thanks! A month off hasn't been the best for my mental health, so I'll be really glad to finally debrief and get a plan in place. Hope all is well with you!!
@PurplePumps: Definitely hope you don't need it, but great that NYC isn't too far away really.
@AmeliaBedilia: Glad your suppression check went well today, and I hope after Friday's check you will be all set to move ahead.

My meds have arrived in NY! This means I should get them in time. I have a phone consult with the reproductive immunologist today. I'm making my list of questions, but open to ideas.
Yesterday was a little overwhelming- first day of HGH, estradiol and first night in our new house. We're going back and forth a bit to get things out of the old house so we can get it staged. We only have three rooms and a bathroom- no closet or kitchen, well water hasn't been tested, so it's a bit of an adventure. We are using a small refrigerator for everything including meds. I'm hoping the energy of the house improves our fertility. While there have been lots of headaches, waking up to the sunrise over our farm was lovely!

Thank ladies. It's taking everything I got not to email my doctor and ask for a day 2 update since he said he would let me know how things look on day 3. But I'm so used to getting a day 2 update usually telling me I need to do a day 3 xfer, so it's weird to not have an update today.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@PurplePumps: this is probably a good sign. My doc only does updates day 1, 3, and 5. He says looking more can disturb the embryos. Saying prayers for a good update tomorrow!
Just heard that my friend with "infertility lite" (gets pregnant with very Minimal RE help) is now pregnant after one month of femara. She is seeing the doc we had the second opinion from. While happy for her, it stinks that with the freeze all, I can't possibly find out I'm pregnant for another two months. Between the prep work, actual stimming and waiting for FET, this all will be a minimum of three months and maybe even longer. I know you ladies have been there- it just helps to vent to people who understand.
