@NorthStar: I'm taking the generic form of Estrace. I'm curious about why you can't do the generic form.

@LoveHope: I might ask when I get my beta results tomorrow. Dumbest thing..

@NorthStar: Congrats!!! That embie sure did look like it was ready to snuggle in!

@NorthStar Thinking of you today as you wait for your beta results. I actually think the two weeks between a BFP and the first ultrasound to see a heartbeat are harder than the 2ww, at least for me. I keep trying to remind myself of that as I'm having SUCH a hard 2ww. But one hurdle down for you already and I'm so thrilled. Hope you are feeling well and excited!

@Mrs. Pajamas: I was just going to check in on you!! How are you holding up?
I'm guessing that I should get a call about 1:30 central time and just verified with my local clinic that they sent the results to my RE at 8:30 this morning. I actually believe you that waiting for the ultrasound will be harder. I'm in a state of disbelief and I don't think that I will let my heart open to it until I see a live baby. It's so sad that I feel that way, but I'm SO used to disappointment.
kiwi / 702 posts
@NorthStar: I feel the same way. With so much disappointment and waiting in my TTC journey a BFP sadly wouldn't even make me that happy..it's that heartbeat and "passing" the 12 week ultrasound that really made me feel OK with my daughter's pregnancy after a MMC and BFNs. But I am so so happy for you and hoping this is it! This 2ww has been the hardest by far for me...thank god the weekend is around the corner which will be fun and relaxing.

So the test of our embryo was inconclusive. I think something along the way got messed up and they couldn't get results. Sucks. So we're looking at PGS for the next batch just to make sure. How much did you guys have to pay for PGS?
pear / 1881 posts
@PurplePumps: I'm so sorry! We did not do PGS, so I am unsure of the cost..
Consider me freaking out (and not in a good way). Doctor called..9 days past 5 day transfer (though the embie had to be close to 6 days past considering timing of when it was frozen, thawed and transferred). Anywho - 358. Isn't that f&*Eing high?! Please give me some numbers so that I have something to compare to? I might post on the main board..
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: Great number! I like to look at (and freak out over) Betabase: http://www.betabase.info/chart/basic/single
Looks like you are higher than average for a single, but well within the range.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: Thank you! I was checking that out, but couldn't figure out how many days past ovulation I would be? 5 day blast + 9 days past transfer = 14?
Ultrasound is scheduled already..so crazy. doesn't seem real.
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: That's the way I read it, so like you said, 14-15! Soooooo exciting!!! Another beta on Saturday or do you wait until Monday?
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: for some reason, my clinic does not do it on the weekend, so back on Monday.
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: The curse of the weekend!
ETA: At least usually for us the weekend is busy, so it will go by fast!!
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: At least it's a good number so that I won't be torturing over it for the next 4 days. I'm already starting to feel sick (didn't get this with DD), so the high number certainly makes sense.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@PurplePumps: We did PGD and the lab that did the test charged $3,000 to test all of them.
The recent embryo we re-tested (it was inconclusive before) we were charged $3,600 by my RE for thaw, rebiopsy, and refreeze. The lab didn't charge us for a retest (thank goodness). I'm not sure what my RE charges just for THEIR part on a fresh cycle (biopsy). But hopefully this gives you some idea.
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: That's how I felt this time around, too. Feels really good to start off so well! With DD (2013) my first beta was only 44 at 9dp5dt! Little did I know then how low that was!I'm so glad for you!
pear / 1986 posts
@PurplePumps: I didn't do PGS/PGD, but we were considering it and I've been quoted between 4-6K.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@NorthStar: Woohoo!! Congrats!!! Great number. If it helps, I was at 550.5 at 16 dpo (you know 11dp5dt and 11dp6dt...not sure which one stuck).
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@SweetiePie: Holy cow, $3600 by the RE to thaw biopsy and refreeze?? Crap, I have one frozen that we would test too, but geez that is a lot. I just talked to ivigen and they said their portion is $1900 including shipping for PGS. PGD is close to $4k. I guess I need to find out what the clinic charges for their portion now. Ugh.
pear / 1881 posts
@PurplePumps: ick! do you know if you will do PGS or PGD? I know that there is a difference. I've listened to something that explains the difference, but off the top of my head, I cannot remember. I do know that one is definitely less expensive..
honeydew / 7463 posts
@NorthStar: yay congrats! My RE only did a beta on 12dp5dt. I was 908. Which is high and I was warned our one emby might have split. Like, the doc even said "let's see how many are in there" before my first ultrasound. But only 1! Try not to freak out, there's such a huge range of normal!
Also, beta base has a way to enter dpt instead of dpo. I don't remember how but here is my entry from 2+ years ago.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@NorthStar: @PurplePumps: That's true. We did PGD which I believe is more expensive. They are looking for a specific chromosomal issue, while I think PGS only looks for general abnormalities? I'm probably way way way over simplifying this and might not have it right at all!
pear / 1881 posts
@SweetiePie: Thank you for showing me that! I will check it out..I know that it could be one! It just freaked me out when i have two friends preggo with IVF twins and their betas were lower than mine!
@PurplePumps: Here is what I had listened to
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@SweetiePie: Yup, they said PGD was 3500 if looking for something simple, and 4500 if more complex. PGS is just a general screening for correct number of chromosomes I think. We're looking into PGS since both of us have done genetic testing and aren't carriers for anything that they screened for.
@NorthStar: Thanks for the link! That was interesting to listen to.

@NorthStar: Eek!!! So exciting!! What an awesome number!! Praying for you and that sweet little bean!!
kiwi / 538 posts
@NorthStar: My 1st beta was 466 (at 10dp5dt) and the next 2 numbers were all on the very high end of singleton pregnancies and average for twin pregnancies so I was panicking but it ended up being just 1. Don't freak out too much yet :).

@NorthStar: OMG, congratulations!!!
@PurplePumps: sorry you're dealing with so much.
As for me, I'm back. I had my suppression check for IVF#3. We did testosterone and estrogen priming, with a microdose lupron protocol, freeze all with plan for gestational carrier. We are trying to bank enough to get 2 kids, since I'm 36 and have DOR. I'm hoping we get all we need on this cycle, but planning for another in August. I had my suppression check today. AFC was only 12 with a 3cm cyst. My AFC was running 15-20 from November-March whenever we checked it. We think I have an autoimmune issue causing my low AMH, and I have been on prednisone for the past 3 months. My AMH went from 0.2 and 0.27 in July 2015 to 0.73 in May after 7.5 weeks of prednisone. I don't understand why it would have gone down when the AMH went up. I asked my new RE, and he said it was better than he expected, questioned the previous AFCs (though I am confident of them), and said the cyst would probably not be blocking any follicles. He also saw a small septum in my uterus- not a huge deal since we are planning on a gestational carrier, but annoyed the previous RE missed it. He wants me to come back Wednesday to make sure the cyst goes down. He said small chance (1-2%) of delaying, which would be messy with work. Since AF came earlier than planned, he is moving everything up one day if Wednesday's scan goes well. Then I would start lupron Wednesday, stims Thursday morning. Complicating things further is I'm working a temporary job 1 hour 45 minutes away. I took off next week and the following week, since it's just too much to do with traveling. I was supposed to work M-Thursday this week and took off today for my ultrasound. With doing stims and lupron, I think it's just too much stress to go back and forth, so I called an told them something came up and needed Wednesday and Thursday off. I feel bad about that, but not sure what else I can do.
My growth hormone got delayed- it was supposed to be here Thursday and finally the tracking showed it made it to my city this morning. I'm still waiting, but it should be here today or tomorrow. Otherwise, I will have to pay an extra $600 to order elsewhere to have it overnighted.
What I would appreciate:
1. reassurance that an AFC of 12 is ok.
2. prayers the cyst goes down and that the growth hormone arrives quickly
Thanks!

@AmeliaBedilia: Wow, you have had so much going on! 12 isn't a bad AFC and hopefully the Dr. was wrong and there were a few hiding out there. The biggest test will be how you respond to the meds. Hoping that the cyst goes down and that you respond well going forward. Also, meds, get here soon!!!
AFM - 2nd beta came back today at 1,318. So, looking good and doctor was happy. Now just have to wait for ultrasound in a few weeks to ensure that there is actually a healthy bean in there. Thank you ladies for all of your support. I'll definitely keep checking back in to root you on!

@AmeliaBedilia: Lots of prayers coming your way. I hated cysts, they always buggered up my stupid cycles (or lack thereof) ... bah!
Good luck hun. Still here cheering you on!

@AmeliaBedilia lots of prayers and positive thoughts coming your way from me (and everyone else). This stuff sucks big time.
AFM I have my beta tomorrow and I'm back in negative city (mentally--haven't tested at all) for the last several days unfortunately. Totally convinced this is a bust and preparing myself for bad news tomorrow. Trying to focus on the good things in life and knowing that it will happen for us at some point. SIGH. Sorry to be such a downer on this thread, ladies. I really had no idea how much this cycle would beat me down. I'm going to take at least a month off if I get a BFN and hopefully build back up my confidence. Thanks for "listening"--it is comforting to vent here for sure.
pear / 1881 posts
@Mrs. Pajamas: oh no! try to keep some positive thoughts! I know several woman who had zero symptoms and tested positive. You are in my thoughts and hoping to good news tomorrow.
kiwi / 702 posts
@Northstar Thanks so much for your support. It's just mind boggling to me--I thought our chances were so good and now I'm wondering if we should do PGD on our remaining embryos so we don't waste time with abnormal embryos. I'm so so so happy for you and your BFP has really given me a lot of hope and happiness, so thank you and good luck! I'll be stalking you to hear of progress and to cheer you on.

@AmeliaBedilia: Praying your cyst goes down.
I'm still waiting for AF to arrive so I can start stimming. I'm wondering if the Estrace is delaying AF.

@Mrs. Pajamas: Good luck for beta - all the times I swore it worked, it hadn't... but the times I'd given up, it did. x

@AmeliaBedilia: I've been thinking about you and glad to hear that things are getting underway. I hope the cyst doesn't delay things for you and hope your meds arrive on time.
@NorthStar: What a great second beta. Congrats! Hope you can rest easy and relax until the u/s. So hard to wait!
@Mrs. Pajamas: Good luck today. Thinking of you!

BFN. It took three transfers to get my daughter a few years ago so I'm trying to be hopeful that next time is ours (it will be FET#3. We still have 5 frozen embryos but I'm going to take a month off to heal. So so hard, ladies. I'm talking to my RE this morning but wondering in the back of my head if we should consider PGD? We don't have any specific risk factors but I'm just shocked we've had 2 failures with such highly rated embryos. Sucks. Wishing everyone the best and promise to be more positive moving forward on this board!
pear / 1881 posts
@Mrs. Pajamas: oh no! I'm so sorry It's so hard to know if you should do PGD and can they do that on the frozen embryos? I think that someone on here had that done. I wish you strength during your month off and hope your RE has some answers.
kiwi / 689 posts
@Mrs. Pajamas: I'm really sorry friend. It's never easy. Hoping you get the answers you need from your RE.
