@ShayNanigans: Hope you're doing ok this morning. I've read so many stories over the past few days of women who had very early bleeding and went on to have wonderful pregnancies. I hope that's the case with you and your numbers are good today. Good luck!!!

@ShayNanigans: oh no, I hope it turns out to be nothing and your beta number is excellent today

I started stims on Saturday and my first monitoring appointment is Wednesday! This long Lupron protocol sure does involve a lot more shots than the antagonist protocol did.

@ShayNanigans: I hope everything is ok. I'm sending you sticky, healthy baby vibes!

@Shutterbug: I did the long Lupron protocol too and it seemed like years of injections. Good luck at your first monitoring appointment!

Thanks, everyone - I am cautiously optimistic that maybe everything is ok, and the bleeding might have been due to the Endometrin applicators. I went in for my blood draw this morning, so hopefully the HCG number will be well within the normal range.

Whew and yay. First beta is 316, progesterone at 47.6. I freaked out last night because I was bleeding a bit, but the nurse thinks it was just the Endometrin.

I am still wondering if it's twins (!) 316 seems high. Hopefully, the next beta will come back all right!

@ShayNanigans: thank goodness!! how many dpo (dpt) are you today? ETA: just saw further back that you're 10dp5dt... tequiero21 said she was about 300 at that dpo... with twins!! Congrats again!

@Shutterbug: My gut says we are having twins. My husband will DIE. (and then be excited)

@ShayNanigans: Oh my gosh, what a relief! Whew! That is a great number and a good sign that baby (babies?) is (are?) staying put

@ShayNanigans: Do you know when your first ultrasound is? Can't wait to see if there are two in there! My husband was freaked out about twins too at first but now he couldn't be happier. (Hopefully we still feel that way when they are actually here, keeping us up all night long, haha)

@twodoghouse: My first ultrasound will likely be Monday, March 24th! My husband is freaked, but... I know he will be ok with it. It's just intimidating! (as you know) I think it'll just be getting over the initial shock of it.

@ShayNanigans: Yay! Have been hoping to hear this news all day. Congratulations! I know how stressful it is waiting for that call. Do you have more betas between now and your ultrasound? Good luck for doubling!!!

@momazon: Yes! Betas on Wednesday and Friday. Hopefully, that will go all right too...

@ShayNanigans: Oh, good! I'm so glad you're doing well! I'm definitely betting you've got twins! I just had my second beta today, but won't hear the results until tomorrow since I went after work. How is I that I'm still convincing myself every step of the way that something MUST be wrong, despite the fact that everything seems fine? I don't have an ultrasound scheduled yet. Hopefully around the same time as you!

@Shutterbug: Yeah, it seems like you started lupron forever ago! I'm super hopeful for you that switching it up will do the trick! Do you have tentative dates yet for ER and transfer?

@SweetiePie: You were totally right about the PIO shots getting rough right around two weeks. I feel like I have a golfball in each cheek! At least I know now that it's for a good reason! How far along were you when you were finally allowed to quit them? My dr. also has me on progesterone suppositories, and I'm hoping I can give up one or the other soon!

  21. ShayNanigans

    cherry / 245 posts

@thisisme: I think it's hard to break yourself of the habit of expecting the worst!! I am definitely still working on that... We won't schedule it til I'm done with betas, but mine will likely be on Monday the 24th.

At this point, I will be shocked if there AREN'T twins in there.

  22. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@thisisme: Rats, I typed a long response and then it got deleted.
In short, I had to take the PIO for about 5 weeks. I was 7.5 weeks when I was allowed to quit, after my RE did a good ultrasound that measured on track and heard a heartbeat.
He had me stay on Crinone suppositories until my OB said to stop. I saw her around 9.5 weeks and she saw the placenta and said it was fine to stop.
The suppositories alone were SO much more bearable without the shots! I'd take the supps over the shots any day.

@thisisme: haha seriously! I've been on the lupron for 2.5 weeks! Last cycle I stimmed for 10 days, but this is a new protocol, so I'm not sure. I'm assuming ER some time in the week of the 17th, but we'll see!

second beta today: 709! So that's good. Still think it's twins. Although at this point, it will be a funny joke on me if it's a singleton!

    @Shutterbug: How are stims going??

  28. Shutterbug

I FINALLY heard back from my doctor about my second beta on Monday! My hcg was 829 and progesterone was 57.4! I'm feeling comfortable enough now to start sharing the news with friends and coworkers who knew we were doing IVF. We'll definitely wait a while to tell anyone who didn't even know we were trying!

@ShayNanigans: Your beta has me worried that somehow I have twins!!! Have you started telling people?

@Shutterbug: Awesome! Keep those follies growing!

  30. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

@thisisme: woohoo! Did you do assisted hatching? Did they warn you about the 3% chance of identical twins? It could happen, haha!

  31. thisisme

    apricot / 305 posts

@Shutterbug: No assisted hatching, but we did do ICSI. I think there's a 1-3% increased chance of identical twins with that, but neither of our families have any twins. If I do end up in that 1-3%, I'll be soooo relieved that we decided not to put in two embryos this time!

I'm also trying to figure out the timing of my betas. My first was Friday morning at 9:30, and my second wasn't until Monday afternoon. Maybe that's why the second one seems so high? Third beta is tomorrow!

  32. LovelyPlum

@thisisme: @ShayNanigans: congratulations to you both! Great numbers!

  33. ShayNanigans

@thisisme: @ShayNanigans: how are you two doing? When are your first ultrasounds?

  35. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

Ok, here we go... I have 18 follicles >12mm (biggest is 20mm) and my estrogen was 2,850 yesterday (waiting for the call about today's result) so I think tonight will be trigger time and ER on Wednesday!! I'll know for sure this afternoon but I'm getting excited! My estrogen yesterday was 4x higher than it was last cycle on the day of trigger (with 14 follicles), so that's making me feel more hopeful that my eggs will be better quality!

  36. thisisme

@Shutterbug: yay! Does that mean hopefully a transfer on Monday? I'm thinking lots of happy thoughts for you!

My first US is Wed, but DH has jury duty that day, so I might try to reschedule it for today or tomorrow since we're both home for (more!) snow days.

@Shutterbug: Your numbers sound great. 18 follicles is awesome. I'm so excited for you! Good luck this week!

@thisisme: Good luck at your first ultrasound this week! I would definitely try to make it work so your husband can be with you!
