    @Jenn23: It is best case scenario so far! They defrosted two embryos and both were living so those were transferred. We still have five frozen. My blood pregnancy test isn't until June 6! There's no way I will hold off on testing till then.

    @swedishfish: Yay! So glad it went great. June 6th?! That is so far off! I wouldn't be able to wait that long either. Why so long for the test? Take it easy the rest of the day.

    @swedishfish: So glad to hear that it went well! Two embies - yay! I am really happy for you and HOLY crap, June 6th? You will definitely have to test! With my FET the first beta was 9dp5dt. What day were your embryos frozen?

  16. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

    @Jenn23: I don't know why they're waiting so long. With my IVF cycle my blood test was 11dp5dt but I got a positive HPT at 6dp5dt.

    @GreenThumb: they are 5 day embryos. But I'm confused as to whether they defrosted them yesterday or today. If I do get pregnant I'll have to ask...because if they defrosted them yesterday then they were 6 day embryos today, right?

  17. GreenThumb

    pear / 1986 posts

    @swedishfish: I think you are right about them being day 6 if they were thawed the night before. Even more reason to test earlier than June 6th! I was thinking maybe they froze on day 3 and that is why they were waiting so long. And if you got a at 6dp5dt last time, that means it's possible to know only 5 days from now !

    @swedishfish: So glad everything went well!! Fingers crossed for you!!!

    I have a question for any of you who did a longer Lupron protocol (if there are any of you out there). I started Lupron two days before I took my last BCP. I am now waiting for AF (took last BCP on Sunday). I have horrible cramps today but no sign of AF yet. I usually don't get cramps until CD 1. Did anyone have a really bad period while on Lupron? I am kind of nervous if I am already starting off this bad.

    Also, I know I need to take Tylenol rather than ibuprofen when I get close to IVF/during/after (estimated retrieval/transfer week of June 9th), but do you think I can take it during AF? Tylenol doesn't help me much, and during a typical period for me, my cramps can be completely debilitating. Thanks!!

    @Sunshine1810: I would call and ask one of the IVF nurses about what medicine you can take and about the Lupron causes delayed periods. I think it is common/normal but I'm not sure. Definitely call to see if advil is OK right now or not. Sorry about the bad cramps.

    @swedishfish: MY Re clinic doesn't do beta's until 11dp5dt either. I tested positive at 5dp5dt. No way I could wait either! Hope you are feeling good today!

    @Jenn23: I ended up starting my period about 2 hours after I wrote that. I was just trying to avoid calling my RE's nurse

    @Sunshine1810: Great timing! What about the Tylenol, though? Did you try taking that? Tylenol doesn't work for me either. I hope you feel better now!!

    @swedishfish: yay, good luck! Praying for sticky babies! Ideally, would u want one or two?

    @Sunshine1810: I'd probably stick with Tylenol at this point too...does a heating pad work for your cramps? You're so close to starting stims!!!

    @Jenn23: I am feeling good!

    @tequiero21: we would be thrilled with 1 or 2. We've always said we would like to have 2-3 kids and, hopefully, this would be my last pregnancy if I get a so either will make me happy.

    I was so reserved yesterday in the pre-op/recovery room when a nurse asked if I was excited. I was just trying to stay realistic as the odds aren't as great with a FET at my clinic as with a fresh transfer. But as another nurse was wheeling me into the operating room I saw a picture of a saint that my family loves hanging at the nurses station. A wave of calmness washed over me and I knew it would be ok no matter what the outcome.

    I am freaking out a little bit. I had my baseline u/s this morning and the tech had issues seeing my ovaries clearly until I pressed on my stomach. I am really concerned that this means they will have trouble with my retrieval :(. Has anyone else had an experience like this?

  28. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

    @Sunshine1810: don't worry! My left ovary always hid until the PA pushed on my abdomen but they had no issues retrieving eggs.

    @Sunshine1810: Try not to worry! One of the techs could always see mine clearly, but one of the other techs ALWAYS had to press on my stomach to be able to see them. If they're in there, they'll be able to get to them! I was a bit worried about this as I'm at a higher BMI, but they were able to get to mine at all three retrievals so far.

  31. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

    @momazon: Thank you! My BMI is on the higher side as well which is really causing me to freak out.

  32. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

    @Sunshine1810: same as what PPs said - I've had to push on my stomach before, and I've never had any problems with retrievals (both times I got more eggs than the # of mature follicles they saw on the last monitoring u/s). They can push on your stomach while you're knocked out anyway, if needed

    ETA: also, your ovaries will be muuch bigger by the time of your retrieval!

  33. Jenn23

    persimmon / 1085 posts

    @Sunshine1810: Breathe!!! You will be just fine! They do this ALL THE TIME and will get those eggs out just fine. I had more eggs retrieved than were seen on my last ultrasound before trigger, too. They may try to hide, but your RE will get 'em outta there. You are going to do great.

    @Jenn23: Thank you!!!

    I just got some great news from the RE's nurse. She called to let me know that my TSH was down to 1.7 from 3.45. It only took 4 weeks which is great! The goal was below 2.0 so I feel much better!

  35. swedishfish

    @Sunshine1810: awesome! Do you start stims tomorrow?

  36. thisisme

    apricot / 305 posts

    @Sunshine1810: Your TSH level is great! My Dr. said levothyroxine is a really fast acting med! As for your hard to find ovary, I think it's actually good that it's not huge now. At one of my baselines, my doctor couldn't find one of mine at all. After looking for a couple of minutes he said it wasn't a big deal. We knew it was there, and he just wanted to make sure it was still "resting" before starting stims, which it obviously was since he couldn't see it. And yes, your ovaries will feel HUGE right before retrieval!

    Are your starting stims tomorrow? Let us know how it goes!

    @swedishfish: I do!!

    @thisisme: Thanks for the reassurance! I needed the feedback from you all. I am much calmer than I was this morning! I do start stims tomorrow, I will keep you updated!

    @Sunshine1810: Just wanted to chime in about your ovary - I had so many ultrasounds and that happened to me once in a while with my left side. It just happens! But once I was on stims it was never an issue. You'll do great with retrieval!

    @Sunshine1810: IVF ultrasounds get so much more fun once you start to see the big follicles. Good luck with starting stims!
