@swedishfish: I'm sorry... Got my first injection out of the way tonight...but truth be told, I'm dreading the PIO...at least a bit.

@FliegepilzHut: haha enjoy it while you can! You should get ice cream today. It's an ice cream kind of day!

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@swedishfish: Heck yes! And a very late ice creak at that, since I can't eat/drink after midnight!

@FliegepilzHut: So excited for your ER in the morning!! Can't wait to see how your little embryos grow:) My AFC was 13 which I was happy with considering my history. My linning looked great on Friday. I am taking estrace and progesterone for 8 more days, stopping and waiting for AF to arrive, probably July 12th then I am starting my IVF cycle! Its going tobe a short agonist protocal as of right now. Super excited! So unreal to think I could be pregnant next month.... hoping and praying!

@swedishfish: Getting ready to have a bagel with lox and cream cheese as we speak... Thanks for the good thoughts and support!

    @Shutterbug: Thank you!

Egg retrieval went well. I'm still a little drowsy (or maybe that's just from being up so early) and having a little cramping, nothing too bad. We got 17 eggs!

  15. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

    @FliegepilzHut: awesome! I also had 17 eggs. It's a good number!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: So exciting! I will be starting stims on the 11th according to my schedule

@FliegepilzHut: I'm glad your ER went well this morning, 17 eggs is awesome! Does your doc prefer a 3 day or 5 day transfer?

  17. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@swedishfish: It seems like a nice number...

@mrswin: I think if things look good, it'll be a Day 5, but they'll call early Wednesday and let me know!

@FliegepilzHut: Yay! 17 eggs is great. Can't wait to hear your fertilization report. How are you feeling today? Hope you are doing well.

  20. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@tequiero21: Truly it is a matter of luck, isn't it? Thank you for the well wishes! I hope that we have lots of normally-fertilized eggs...

@Jenn23: I will share once I know! They said it would probably be quite late by the time they called, because Mondays tend to be such busy days... I'm feeling pretty good...only a little bit of cramping and much less "full" than before my retrieval! Thanks for thinking of me!

  21. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Isn't it nice to have that "full" feeling going away? I was so happy when that started happening! Thinking of you

  22. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Sunshine1810: Oh YES! On the upside, I guess I now know what it must feel like to have an ovarian mass...

  23. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Ugh I know. This made sound weird, but I felt almost like my ovaries had turned into two water balloons and they could burst at any minute. Ridiculous, huh?

  24. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Sunshine1810: I thought of mine as "sand bags" (maybe like the ones that are used in outdoor games...only bigger!)... And I was totally worried that they wouldn't "hang on" until the retrieval! But then I had to recite my mantra...and remember that there is a good reason why these nice people are in charge, making decisions...and not me! It's good to know that, all things considered, it's not THAT bad...just uncomfortable at times. When do you have your RE appt to debrief and plan next steps?

  25. Sunshine1810

    pear / 1556 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Haha, it's so funny the things we think of during this process. My next appointment is 07/18. Part of me wishes it was sooner, but on the other hand it is nice to have a little break and regroup.

  26. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Sunshine1810: It's absolutely crazy, isn't it? So nice to have a cohort of women who've gone through /are going through this... I bet the break will be nice... Hang in there!

@FliegepilzHut: wowee! Did you do ICSI? Congrats on all those embryos!

  29. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

    @Shutterbug: 50% ICSI (8 or 9-- I can't remember which). Thank you! We're very excited!!!

  30. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@FliegepilzHut: yay! That is great, curious why they only did ICSI on 50%, is there a specific reason not to do it on all?

  31. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

@FliegepilzHut: That's an awesome number! Congrats!

  32. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@FliegepilzHut: woohoo! 14 fertilized is a great percentage!

  33. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@mrswin: I think it was to see if ICSI would be necessary in the event of future attempts...and I'd say the answer is probably no!

@twodoghouse: @swedishfish: Thank you for all the good thoughts and support!

@mrswin: That's awesome! So glad someone else will be on a similar timeline as me:)

@Mrs.Pinecone316: @SweetiePie: @mrswin: @LovelyPlum: Thank you all! I got a great update this morning --12 are growing right on track, only 2 are lagging behind. Embryo transfer on Friday (I think DH and I have decided on 2)!

@mrswin: Also, re: "partial ICSI," I think my clinic frequently does 50% when the official diagnosis is "unexplained." I'm feeling great today! No cramping yesterday or today, no fullness at all...still trying to "take it easy," per doctor's instructions, though. I think I will go to yoga tonight with a friend! Looking forward to hearing about your upcoming cycle!

    persimmon / 1085 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Fantastic news!! You have lots of great embryos!! That's interesting how they do ICSI on half. Never heard that before, but that's awesome. So two days until your big day!!

  40. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Great news! Sounds like your cycle is going really well. I looked at my paper work and in the section about IVF and it notes that they sometimes do 50% ICSI (case by case basis) but that full fees still apply
