I can't believe they still have those toxins in J&J products in teh US when they don't have them in the same products in Europe! Awful.

@plantains: yea... they've actually been saying they were "re-formulating" for quite awhile now.
I didn't realize that Aveeno Baby was J&J and that's really disheartening b/c I always used it b/c it was more "natural" with oatmeal..... I think though that it's just the Oatmeal bath product that had the "bad" ingredients though.
As for the other J&J baby products... I never liked them so we didn't use them.

We do have J&J products at home.. but we usually wash our baby with just water. She's only 7 months and doesn't get very dirty.

I was telling people at work about the toxins in J&J products, because we use them exclusively in the hospital (we get them for free from J&J). Everyone was pretty shocked, but since we are stuck with them (unless parents bring in their own) I am glad that they are starting to do something about it.

Wow I'm actually pretty surprised and didn't realize that about Aveeno, we mostly just use their products. I'm glad to hear there are changes in the works!

I had no idea! We use Penaten, which is a German J&J company. We use Nivea Baby Shampoo though.

We use California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo. My LO has very sensitive skin, and it helps with his eczema. My hospital also uses J&J. I never thought to pack baby shampoo with me. I'll be better prepared next time.

@runsyellowlites: I had no idea about Aveeno. I picked it because I didn't think it was J&J. Crap.

I just realized that we use the J&J baby oil. The ingredients just say mineral oil and water. Does anyone know if the baby oil also contains toxins?

We used them because we got a truck load at our baby shower. But Health Canada are pretty intense with stuff like this, so I assumed (yes bad) that we had what Europe had. I'm actually surprised that it sold here. hmm

@themcmom: Me too! I dumped all the J&J products and got more Aveeno. Looks like I am heading back to the store tonight.

@Pipers Mommy: I have to do the same thing, which is really upsetting because cash is really tight for us. I guess I should've checked the back of the bottle first.

I highly suggest Dr Bronner's soap. It is Castille soap which is organic plant based and has one of the best ratings on the Cosmetics Database...which for everyone's reference is: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/
It is an excellent resource where you can look up the chemical makings of most cosmetic products that are sold in the US.

I went to the store today and purchased Live Clean Baby a natural Canadian baby product line and has been getting some great reviews.
They recently started to sell them at Walgreens and are often on sale. I tried the cream on my arm and dang it smells good and my arm is still super soft. If you sign up to their newsletter they send you a 1$ coupon.
Anyone else use it?

Anyone heard updates on this for the products in US?
@blushink: I've seen this at Walgreens! I'll give it a smell next time I'm there!
