We live in GA, where it is total taboo for men to wear jean shorts. DH will never wear a pair and has already said that if we have a boy, he will never either.
I bought a really cute pair for R and when I told him I bought some, he made a why would you do that face. He did admit they were cute, and ok for her to wear, when he saw them.
Do you dress your LO in jean shorts? Are they ok in your region for men to wear?

Yeah guys here (at least younger generations, less than 50 years old) do not wear jean shorts. Girls and woman do though and DD and I both have jean shorts. If we ever have a boy he probably won't wear jean shorts, but I won't rule it out either

@stargal: I am not sure why it is taboo. Everyone here says that only Florida Gators fans or people from Florida wear jean shorts.

The only guys that wear jean shorts around here are old men and baby boys. Girls of all ages wear jean shorts! If my boys want jean shorts I won't tell them no though.

Yeah, DH doesn't wear jean shorts either. I think they look kind of funny/dorky on guys.

I don't see too many men wearing jean shorts around here, but DS has a pair that are really cute and DD has a pair that are slim roll-ups. Love them on my kids. Jean shorts are weird on me. The longer ones make me feel dumpy, and the short ones are just too short!

I think my husband would wear a dress before he would wear jean shorts. We live in Chicago so it's not really something you see a lot of younger people in unless they are tourists. I would never buy them for my son because I dress him like a mini version of my husband but I'm not really opposed to them on girls. I have a pair but I only really wear them if I'm going to a sporting event- I just hate shorts in general.

@MsLipGloss: lol when my in-laws lived.in Alabama me and my hubby when to visit, it was like 70 degrees.and everyone had pants and jackets.on and were in shorts (maybe Jean shorts!) And tshirts...haha we stuck out. And everyone thought we talked all weird...lol

@MsLipGloss: hahah oh lord, jewelry! I had a friend in HS who wore nig necklaces with crosses on them and bracelets and rings and he got picked on so hard. Come to think of it, he wore jean shorts too! bahahah
@stargal: jewelry is very mobstery or nerdy depending on the type.. Watches are perfectly okay but rings (other than wedding) and necklaces are not.

JORTS! Not okay for men under 45 here in Southern VA! But, it's totally acceptable for girls/women to wear jean shorts. Sadie has a pair of little faux denim shorty shorts & they are adorable.

DH doesn't wear jean shorts neither do most people I know. My dad does sometimes when he cuts the grass. I don't really get fashion so I don't really understand why they are so bad. With that said, I don't really like how they look.
This reminds me when I was in high school and we traveled to another school a few states away. All the guys at one school only had cargo shorts, the other school only wore regular flat front plain shorts. Each group though the other looked dorky.

It's taboo for men but not women in our area (Nebraska.) My DD rocks bubble jean shorts and is so stinken cute in them but I don't think I would put my boy in them...haha so strange how the mind works!

Ok I totally snorted when I envisioned guys in jean shorts! I don't think so. Around here *maybe* I've seen some old men and young hipster guys wear jean shorts? All sorts if girls and women wear them though. And I think little boys in jean cargo shorts?

My dd & I both have jean shorts. I love them!
Eta: DH has a pair or two also. I don't see what's wrong with men wearing them. It gets hot around here!

My husband is so against jorts! and he said DS isn't allowed to wear them either haha. he said they are fine for little girls though.
