It’s a different thing (no charms) but I love stacking rings which leaves options open and isn’t too specific to a given look.

For another idea - DH gave me an initial necklace charm for my first Mother's Day with DD's initial. If we have another LO I will add another initial. I might also get a small charm with DH's birthstone or the stone from the month we got married.

Mine is from Helen Ficalora and I LOVE it! Personally I wanted something that was white gold for longevity.

@Umbreon: Can’t speak to what you might like the most but I can say my pandora hasn’t tarnished at all and I very rarely wear it (that sucker is heavy!).

@Umbreon: my Pandora looks great and I rarely wear it these days. I've had it for 8-9 years and I've had all the charms for 4+ years. Its heavy so I only wear if for special occasions. I work on a computer all day, so it clangs against my desk/keyboard.

I also have a rose gold necklace. It has 3 tiny tags, one rose gold, one gold, one silver. One has DHs name, one has DDs and one has a heart, signifying the room we have in our hearts for another family member.

I would also do stacking rings. I think the Pandora will look dated in the future (if that matters to you.)
I think they are timeless.

The bottom is the ring I got when my son was born and the top is the one I am having made for my daughter. I can't wait to wear them together.
