    @BabyBoecksMom: awww why waiting if not this time? Just life events coming up or something?

    Hi everyone, new to this discussion! I have gotten two positive OPK's (last night and this am), but no EWCM...what does that mean? Does that mean I'm not really ovulating?

    @LovelyPlum: I'm at a loss for names, lol. I think we have a boy name picked out, Matthew, leftover from when I was pregnant with S. But, I don't know about a middle name.

    I'm clueless on a girl name, because I used my favorite on S. Last night, though I thought of the name Samantha, but I haven't discussed any girl names with DH, yet...

    @Dandelion: I know you weren't talking to me, but I love the name Samantha! I think it's gorgeous!

  5. Dandelion

    @Littlebit: It means you're about to. I think the opk picks up the hormone that tells your body to release the egg.

    watermelon / 14206 posts

    @Littlebit: Thanks...our angel baby was Stacy, so I think it fits well. Knowing our luck, we'll have a boy, though, since I have all this girl stuff to use, lol

    @lovelyplum Gemma is such a pretty name! My favorite right now is Charlotte for a girl. But I really can't decide on a boy name at all!

  9. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

    @jhd: I love the name Charlotte like crazy...but I LIVE in Charlotte, so I think it's always a no go for me

    @Littlebit: Some people don't ever see EWCM. I saw it ONCE in my 6 cycles of trying. That's why I started using pre-seed, just in case I needed some extra help. Are you temping at all? That will let you know if you DID ovulate once you do, though it won't help you predict at all. Good luck to you!

  11. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Dandelion: Eh, you can always dress him in girl clothes. As babies, they don't care. Though if you take him out in public, people will definitely be confused!

  12. jillybean218

    @LovelyPlum: our current choices are John Edwin for a boy, Sadie Rae for a girl. They are all family names!

  13. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

    @Adira: DH would never allow that, lol. I'll be sad to have to sell the girl stuff and get boy stuff, but in the end, I really just want a healthy baby...but I'll still be sad, lol

  14. LindsayInNY

    @LovelyPlum: Would Quinn be your boy name?

    We're 100% sold on a boy's name - Jason Jay J-(lastname) Jr. You can laugh, it's okay It's DH's name and he's been called Jason, Jay, JJ, JJJ, you name it. So it's too perfect to not throw a Jr on the end!

    As for a girl, we're stuck. We got engaged in Aquinnah (Martha's Vineyard) so it has special meaning to us. DH *loves* the name for that reason and, surprisingly, his family does too (I was hoping they'd convince him otherwise!). We plan to retire on MV and I'm not crazy about the idea of my kid living nearby the place she was named after. It's like naming your kid Bronx or Brooklyn and living in the NYC area. I like Quinn because it's close to Aquinnah but not so obvious or out there. DH says we could call her Quinn but I hate using one name but calling the kid by another. Let's hope we don't have a girl, LOL!

  15. jhd

    coconut / 8079 posts

    @Dandelion I can understand that!

  16. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

    @Adira: How does the pre-seed help with EWCM? I have trouble distinguishing my CM in general. I know when it's dry and I know when it's wet but whether its creamy or EW is anyone's guess!

  17. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Dandelion: Yeah, I would definitely be sad too! Especially if you have a lot of really nice items that you want to use! Though do you think you'll be sad either way? Like if you have another girl, will you be sad that she gets to wear all these nice items you got for Stacy? I feel like I might have to get rid of everything and start from scratch, regardless of the gender!

  18. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

    @Littlebit: Welcome!! Like others said, a positive OPK means you will likely be ovulating in 12-36 hours. From my experience with OPKs, once I do in fact O, the strip gets very light and then essentially white. Leading up to the positive it's medium colored but still there. So, if you're TTC, get BDing!

  19. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @LindsayInNY: Well, pre-seed is a lubricate that mimics EWCM. So EWCM is supposed to be really helpful in getting those spermies to their location, right? And I always felt like I never really had any, so I was thinking Hubs' sperm might need some help getting where they are going, so I used pre-seed. Does that make sense?

    And if it's EWCM, you'll KNOW. I've only ever seen mine EWCM ONCE and it was obvious because it was JUST like egg-whites and could stretch an inch between my fingers, just like it's described!

  20. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

    @Adira: I love a lot of the pieces I bought and was gifted. And, I think it would be a little weird dressing another baby girl in an outfit thinking it was intended for her sister. But, I was SO looking forward to dressing a girl! So, I'd love to use that stuff on someone!

    Also, I don't want a shower for any more babies...so I wouldn't be gifted as much as I would, so starting over would be a lot more expensive! With girl clothes, it's even worse!

  21. jillybean218

    cherry / 165 posts

    @Adira: Yep, agree with you. That EWCM is so obvious! Other than that, I can't tell the difference between the different types because I don't have much CM at all. But when that CM gets super stretchy it's like, yaaaay!

    We just got pre-seed and it was identical to the EWCM I had. It's a little pricey, but for any ladies who want to know what EWCM looks like, get some pre-seed

  22. Littlebit

    nectarine / 2932 posts

    @Adira: Awesome, that makes me feel better. I just got my thermometer yesterday, so I temped today, but I have nothing to compare it to. I'll have to really start it next month!

    @Dandelion: Thank you! I'm excited to be here

    @LindsayInNY: Wohoo! We'll be BDing tonight. So hopefully we catch it right on time!

  23. LindsayInNY

    @jillybean218: @Adira: I think we'll try some next cycle, if necessary. DH is all for anything that will help so, at this point, what do I have to lose...

    @LovelyPlum: Your list looks great for July! could you remove me from the BFP list? sadly this pregnancy is over for me, still waiting on an appointment with my NP to figure out what our next steps are. Hopefully (and sadly) I'll be back on the POAS boards again soon.

    @fotolori1: Sorry to hear about AF!

    @LovelyPlum: Carson Andrew for a boy. That's the only name we've agreed upon! Although I really like the name Virginia for a girl. It's both of our gradma's names. I like it so much that I'm terrified to mention it to DH - don't want him to shoot it down!

    @Mrsk: ((hugs))

    AFM, my opk's are getting darker and I had EWCM yesterday! Yay for potentially Oing soon!

    I'm popping in as a cheerleader! You girls are amazing!! I remember getting so frustrated month after month, so I can def relate to those feelings. And unfortunately, y'all who have experienced loss are close to my heart as well. Reading through this thread makes me happy and sad at the same time because I know how difficult this journey can be.

    I can't wait to see all of your beautiful BFPs!! You're all in my thoughts and prayers!

    @Mrsk: So sorry

    @runnerd: yeah, we're trying to move to another area so we're saving money right now. I also started at my job only 4 months ago, so it would be kind of crappy to say "hey... I know I just got here, but I'm going to be leaving for 4 months" lol.

    @Littlebit: Welcome and good luck!

  35. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Dandelion: That's true!!! Having to buy a whole new wardrobe would be so costly! I actually didn't get a TON of clothes for Xander, so I'm always having to go out and buy him stuff and it's pricey!

    @Littlebit: You might be able to tell if your temp shoots up in the next couple days, but definitely starting from the beginning of your cycle will give you a better indication. Good luck!!

    @LindsayInNY: @jillybean218: Using pre-seed was the one main thing I did differently the cycle I got pregnant. I really never saw EWCM, so I thought the pre-seed would help. And who knows if it really did or not, but that was the cycle I got pregnant! (Cycle 6) But hopefully you'll get a BFP THIS cycle and not have to use it at all!

    @Littlebit: Welcome

    @doxielove: I like Virginia too, but that's where we live so I think that would be kind of weird. That would be a nice way for you to honor both grandmas.
