@LindsayInNY: Phew. I am so glad you thought the instructions weren't too helpful either! I felt like an idiot reading them over and over. I will try again tomorrow.

@jillybean218: Wait. What?! So just press on/off to take temp, hold it down to read the last one? Man, I'm blonde...

@LindsayInNY: yup! but I agree the instructions were weird and I had to experiment before figuring this out

So, what is everyone's thoughts on temps and implantation dips in the LP? Are they a real thing or just a myth/not conclusive?

  5. jillybean218

    cherry / 165 posts

@Sprite: statistically, they appear more often in pregnancy charts, right? (I think Fertility Friend says this). So at the very least, they can mean something, but aren't definitive. But I personally don't have an opinion one way or the other, though I've only been charting for a few months.

@Sprite: I'm biased - all three of my sisters and my SIL had implantation temp dip prior to their BFPs. So, I can see it, but don't know that it happens (or doesn't) to everyone.

ETA: I had a dip in temperature yesterday at 6dpo. Trying not to get weird about it.

TMI- but so far only 2-3 tbsp of dark brown spotting today. This is slight increase from yesterday. No flow - am I out- should I hold off on that glass of wine?
I wish I just knew today one way or another.

@Claire.Peonies: I don't really know the difference between implantation bleeding and a light AF. But I still wouldn't think you are out just yet! Keep POAS!

Nope, I am out. Just found out at least I can enjoy that glass of wine tonight. Ugh. So frustrating though! I hope nothing is wrong with us. going on month 6 is harder then I thought it would be. Should I not count the first 2 weird cycles off of OCP to make myself feel better?

  10. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@Sprite: I haven't pretty big dips during the TWW (on only one day) without a BFP =/ Yet I still obsess over things when it happens. Typical.

@Claire.Peonies: Weird cycles never count!!! Drink up and stay positive!!

  12. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@Claire.Peonies: I would hold off on the wine for now. I know some people have spotted before a BFP. Me, on the other hand, I spot (like you describe mostly) and then AF comes. I'm more of a "don't drink in week #2 of the TWW" person and not "drink till it's pink." How late are you?

ETA: Just saw your last post - what?! Did the spotting turn to bleeding? If it makes you feel better, I'm in the end of cycle #6 too. I agree, it's definitely frustrating. I know we had zero/little chance the first two cycles so I try to ignore those and tell myself we're really on cycle #4 of "true" trying. Sometimes it makes me feel a little better?

@Claire.Peonies: If not counting the first 2 cycles feels better, for sure do that, but if you need support feel free to come hang out with us in the 6 month plus TTC thread.

@LindsayInNY: Thanks Friend. I like how you think. I hate that brown spotting the day prior to AF and then a few days after. I guess this marks the beginning of a new frustrating cycle. Trying not to think too much about it, but it is hard.

The brown spotting- I know it means old blood and that our progesterone level is dropping. I just hope my cervix/uterus isn't tilted, making it harder for AF to come out and DH guys to get in...

I have my fx for you lady! Your BFP is around the corner. When is your testing date?

  15. Claire.Peonies

    apricot / 402 posts

@pui: I want to, but I don't want to pay. I may have to though and suck it up. I need that support right now. Feeling pretty down about hitting month 6.

@lisamarieloves: I like your thinking as well. Wish I had you ladies in my life at work, or at least in the state!

@Claire.Peonies: I never had pre-AF spotting before BC or much my first couple cycles off BC. It just started getting longer the last two cycles. I added B6 post-O this cycle, to see if it helps stop the spotting slash keeps the progesterone level up? I suppose it can't hurt... I should be testing sometime around July 27. Still waiting for cross-hairs on FF - hopefully tomorrow? Go enjoy some wine tonight

@LindsayInNY: what is cross hairs and FF (fertility friend)? Do I need to register for FF too? I am bad at temp charting and took a break this month because it only got my hope up. I don't have a BBT do I need to get one? I have a regular cheap temp.

Fx for you on the 27th!

  21. Claire.Peonies

    apricot / 402 posts

@Bao: It started to get heavier - and more of a reddish color. This does happen occasionally. My LP this time was apx 12-13 days, I started spotting yesterday (usually happens to me) and then just found out it was turning to flow/AF Half way through my glass of wine- so pretty confident...

Well, we're out. Final blood work for m/c showed hormone levels have dropped to almost normal. They would have been going back up if we'd gotten lucky this time. Oh well. Doctor says to let them know if no AF in next 12 days, and I'd say it'll be here any day now. Gonna start charting and using opk's next month, and I'm actually kind of looking forward to it! It'll get really old after a couple months, but the first time should be fun. ^_^

@LindsayInNY: @Claire.Peonies: This is my 10th cycle and I started clomid after my 7th. Although I just turned 40 so that was the reason I was more aggressive sooner. I keep reading that it can take normal, healthy couples a year to conceive under the best of circumstances so I try to keep reminding myself that's the case.

    @LizSmith: Sorry lady

  34. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@Claire.Peonies: Welcome to gold!! Wasn't me either but I know who it was, hehe!

Fertility friend is an app/website where you can track everything about your cycle - AF, frequency of sex, BBT if you temp, symptoms, cervical position, etc. - as much or as few as you want! It's free but there are some extra features with the paid membership (I use the free version). Once FF registers O (if you temp, it's after a sustained rise in temps and usually some other symptom like a +OPK or EWCM), it puts cross hairs on your chart - a horizontal and vertical line that intersect through your O date! For temping, you need a special thermometer that measures in 0.10 (it's more precise than a normal thermometer). You can buy them at most drugstores!

7dpo and I don't think I have any symptoms. I always feel like I'm not so in touch with my body. I pretty much don't have PMS symptoms, that or I never know I'm bloated and tired because I always feel that way lol. Anyone feel clueless? I'm going to go look up TWW symptoms now

@luckypenny: dont! All the tww symptoms are pretty much the same as pms. You'll drive yourself crazy!
