@MSBartlett: I am lurking but when I was charting for R I had implantation bleeding on days 11 and 12 dpo (went back to check). I hope that helps! good luck!

@doxielove: I only had spotting about a day or two before my AF and it is usually more heavier spotting then what I had yesterday and today. I thought it seemed early as well (unless I am wrong about my O date). I guess I will just have to see how this cycle goes I guess..

@MSBartlett: hmm, I would say too early for AF as well. It could very well be implantation spotting, but it is hard to know. Sometimes I spot in the middle of my cycle too. Hang in there-the TWW is tough, really really tough. What can you do to distract yourself? I went on lots of runs during mu TWW and tried to keep myself as busy as possible. We are rooting for you!

Thanks @lovelyplum! I have not been exercising as much because I have overall not been feeling great, but maybe I will start forcing myself to go. I have been refinishing some furniture I own, maybe I just need to work on that some more too. I think the daytime hours at my desk job sort of allow me to think too much about it.
Thank you for the encouragement!

CD70. SEVENTY.
Dr. appointment is tomorrow, but I am feeling a little depressed. Why couldn't I have just been normal?
bananas / 9899 posts
@TheReelDeal: :\ I wish I could think that way, but a 70 day long cycle is not normal... I know it's silly, but needing to take medication in order to get pregnant (and to just have a normal cycle) makes me kind of sad. Makes me feel like less of a woman. I know that that isn't true, it's just how I feel right now.

@pui: I totally understand, I have PCOS, my ovaries love holding onto eggies and I've felt that same way a ton of times, but even women who have "normal" cycles sometimes still need help getting pregnant. So, while it's not going to be easy it will certainly be worth it!!
bananas / 9899 posts
@TheReelDeal: It will definitely be worth it. I really hope we do not have to wait much longer! I also really hope AF comes soon and I don't have to deal with another 70 day long cycle.

@pui: Oh wow... That is really frustrating. I'm sorry! But hopefully you'll make some progress tomorrow at the Dr!
I don't know if you're open to it, but there are a lot of supplements/natural medicine out there that help to get things back on track. It doesn't work for everyone and sometimes takes a little while to kick in, but it's a more conservative approach if you're not keen on starting down the medicated path. Have you tried anything like that yet?
At the same time, I could totally understand doing whatever it takes, when you are going through what you're going through. Girl, I'm rooting for you.

@pui: I know the feeling of realizing for the first time that you may have to rely on medication to TTC... It's just not what you've always envisioned, and it's certainly disappointing. You are 100% entitled to feeling all kinds of sad. I do hope, though, that you have a great, thorough conversation with your doctor and you leave with an awesome plan and feeling like you're in good hands!

@ineebee: Yeah exactly. It's just not how I always pictured TTC would be like. These things rarely turn out the way you dream them to be though, huh?
pear / 1580 posts
@pui: I hear ya! It really sucks. I hope that whatever issue is underlying the long cycles is a simple one - there's still hope for very minimal medical intervention. Let us know how your appointment tomorrow goes! I hope you get some answers and a nice healthy boost of hope!
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
@pui: good luck at your appointment tomorrow! the good news is that your dr has been so responsive, hopefully (s)he will continue to help get things moving along
persimmon / 1388 posts
@MSBartlett: Hmm interesting. The sucky part about the TWW is that pre-af symptoms, like spotting, also could be preg symptoms. Not helpful! Well, in any case you'll get an answer in a few days
@pui: I keep glaring at your chart! CD70 is crazy. Good luck at the doctor!
Well ladies, I finally made a doctor appointment. Some of you may or may not remember on the April POAS thread (I guess I alluded to this on this thread as well) I mentioned that my post-BCP periods were so painful I was vomitting/almost passing out from the pain. Well, the gyn was able to fit me in next week Thursday for an appointment. Keep your fingers crossed for me that they take me seriously and address my concerns! I hate going to the dr...gives me anxiety.

@doxielove: can you change my POAS date to June 27th, pretty please? And I hope you feel better soon and your upcoming doctor appointment is helpful!

@pui: I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling sad, but glad to hear you've got a dr. appointment. Hopefully they'll be able to shed some light on what is going on with your long cycles!

Ok ladies, I have a question. Has anyone had any experience with the 21 day Progesterone Test? Or, specifically, what happens after you take the test, what are the next steps?
I mentioned it earlier on this thread, but I think my body has been gearing up to O, but then not, based on the last 3 months of charting temps and CM. The last two months I didn't get any positive OPKs, or a peak on the CBE fertility monitor I started using last month (although I heard it's fairly common to not get a peak until the monitor learns your cycle). The cycle before that I had two patches of EWCM and two positive OPKs, about two weeks apart, and AF came 5 days after the second positive OPK, so obviously I didn't really ovulate that cycle. And FF hasn't confirmed O in the past three months I've been charting either.
So I had a doctor appointment today, and luckily she is being supportive of me wanting to be proactive to figure out what is going on. I've got a 21 day progesterone test scheduled for two weeks from today, which I started researching as soon as I got home, since I didn't even know what it was.
Anyone have any experience with this test, and if you're below the normal range, what are the next steps doctors usually prescribe? TIA!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Sprite: Its a simple blood test, and actually it should be taken on 7dpo (which, in a perfect world is cd21). The point of the test is to confirm ovulation and to see how your progesterone levels are. Normal is above 10, anything below that will either need progesterone supplementation (a suppository) or will confirm that you did not ovulate. Hope that helps!

@sprite: I've had Progesterone tests before, and I'm having them again next month. They're pretty easy, if you're ok with blood draws-only one vial. I've also been on suppositories, so if you get to that point, feel free to ask if you have questions!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@pui: I'm so sorry. I know that feeling too, where you realize that TTC is not at all like "they" said it would be, whoever they is that defines what's "normal". But I am pulling for you-I hope and pray that you get answers to bring you closer to your baby. Good luck tomorrow!
@doxielove: I'm really glad that you are getting your issue addressed! I agree, doctors can be a little scary, but I hope yours can bring you some relief!
persimmon / 1388 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Question regarding this - so, if you know that you never O on CD14, therefore you wouldn't be at 7dpo when they do the test...can you request to make an appointment when you confirm O? For example, I have a history of Oing anywhere between cd15-40, so cd21 wouldn't be beneficial to me. I always wondered this

@LovelyPlum: @MSBartlett: Thanks ladies.
@MSBartlett: That does seem early for AF. FX for you.
@Pui: Good luck tomorrow!
@doxielove: That sounds awful. I hope you feel better soon! Good luck at the doctor.

So I was bummed this morning with testing before I swore I would and getting a negative, then a coworker came up to me today and said "I just noticed your bump!" Had to smile and say "Nope, just chubby!" Awesome.

@Mrs.Someone: @LovelyPlum: thanks ladies. A suppository, fun times, haha! But LovelyPlum, good to know it's only one vial. I have a history of fainting during blood draws, so hopefully I can hold on for just one vial.
@doxielove: I'm curious about this too!
@mrs. 64: So rude! I'm sorry, I'm sure that's the last thing you wanted to hear today
persimmon / 1388 posts
@mrs. 64: Oh my goodness, how rude!! I would be seriously peeved...
eggplant / 11408 posts
@mrs. 64: grr. That happened me last year, only it was with a total stranger. In all fairness, she was mortified, but then again, so was I. Sorry your day didn't go so well.

Caved and tested 12 DPO with a Dollar Store test...blank blank blank I feel ya @Mrs. 64. Trying to hold out a little hope, but at least if I get AF then I can indulge in some cold beers on the patio -- it's going to be 105 here this weekend!

@MRS. 64 -- I got asked 2x today if I'm preggers. Also just pudgy. WHYY do people ask?
pear / 1697 posts
Though at least the patients who asked me were sedated at the time. That allows a bit more forgiveness.
nectarine / 2936 posts
@NorCalWayfarer: Boo. Waiting is sooo hard. Hoping Friday is a good day for both of us!
@lilyofthewest: I'm sorry that sucks! Confession part 2: The cashier at wawa asked me on Monday. Neither of these women were sedated! Clearly I need to either for real get knocked up or lose some weight, but seriously don't people know to never, never ask anyone that??
nectarine / 2134 posts
@Mrs. 64 and @ Lilyofthewest: I totally do the opposite -- I don't ask til they are obviously showing and then they're like "I'm 8 months pregnant you idiot." But I figure it's better to be on the later end of the spectrum hahahaha.

I get the "are you pregnant?" look/mistake on a daily basis. Thanks, metabolism! At least I'm healthy, though!
clementine / 854 posts
@mrs. 64: so rude! I'm sure you look great. I have never asked anyone if they're pregnant for fear they may not be.
Looks like we have a lot of POASers coming up. I'm jealous. Still waiting to O, but it should be in the next few days. Unfortunately DH leaves for a boys trip tomorrow so I'm not sure out timing will be great. Trying to keep my expectations low.
Sorry I've been MIA lately. Been working crazy hours this week. The lack of sleep is not helping my already grumpy moods. Came home to a box of formula samples and a bunch of coupons. This happens about once a week now. They seem to be coming from multiple sources. I wish it was as easy as unsubscribing from an email!
nectarine / 2936 posts
@futuremama: Thanks lady. Hang in there til O time. I think the first half of the cycle is so tough because you feel like nothing is happening. Hope you get to relax this weekend!
@NorCalWayfarer: Yes, that is totally preferable!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@futuremama: Hang in there, lady...and sorry about the formula/boxes thing. That's super ridiculously annoying, and frustrating.
