@organicmama: it was the very first cycle. We did nothing different. My consultant says it was the progesterone allowing implantation and I believe her. I know what you mean about getting hopes up. Sometimes a bit of deffensive negativism just makes things easier, i hope you are proved wrong!

@snowdrop: Wow! I just love hearing stories like that! It probably sounds insane but I swear I've felt like it wasn't sticking before. It's either that or DH is shooting blanks. But we had no issues getting KU on our 1st on the 1st try!! However that was over 6 years ago. We have become senior citizens since then.

@AmeliaBedilia: I say buy the diapers no matter what!!! Show yourself that you WILL have a baby! Unless they would make you blue.
@Organicmama I sho nuff did! And I was halfway to 35! In the end though I think if you need distractions or poas makes you insane then I say take a lax approach. I like to kind of go hard one month then soft then harder again. It helps keep me from losing my mind.
I cheated on my diet today by finishing my sons cinnamon raison bagel! Hahah it wa covered in slobber and two thirds finishe but it was still the most delicious thing on the planet. I look forward to going back to a more moderate but less restrictive diet! And my Thai friend is cooking on her sons birthday party Sunday so I may let myself sample a bit of that too. Just not gonna go overboard. 30 days is too long! I'm on day 18 of this and I do feel like its taught me how to eat clean.

My symptom stalking moment: we went to watch the US soccer game at a small sports bar. There was a guy who REEKED of BO. DH noticed, but said it wasn't that bad. It was TERRIBLE! I wanted to spray deodorant all over him. I don't know if progesterone supplements can cause this, but OMG!

@AmeliaBedilia: that's a very nice sign!!!!! FX! I'm glad we don't have long yo wait. Can you plan to treat yourself to something you wouldn't be able to do if pregnant? Maybe a sauna or hot tub? A nice bottle of wine or a venti triple shot Starbucks? Sushi?
I think you are though I do! I do!

@MrsMccarthy: Good thoughts. One challenge is I am not big on alcohol, and caffeine makes me an anxious insomniac. Going to the waterpark would be the easiest "can't do if you're preggo" thing. If I get a BFN, I think Sunday will be a "me day" with watching trashy TV and reading in the hammock.
Here is my chart, but I am on progesterone.

@organicmama: I totally understand not wanting to test. But since you did BD on one prime day, then you are still totally in the game for this month. Quit your sulking!!
@AmeliaBedilia: I say test in the morning before the garage sale before you purchase the diapers. And FYI, I love going to garage sales to look for little gems! And lastly, your chart looks great!!!!
@LindsayInNY: Thanks for the links! You are such a doll!!!

@Snowdrop: I don't mind at all! I need all the advice I can get! She won't test again, because she said I'm ovulating. She also won't prescribe anything for anything over 1.2 I'm going to wait until October and go to someone who knows what they hell they're doing.
@LindsayInNY: We miss you!! Thanks for the links, I'm looking them up now.
I'm really feeling Sangria these days. I should probably worry about drinking it in the tww, but one a week isn't going to kill me.

@MrsMcD: I'm a few hours late, but wanted to chime in and say that my first cycle of Clomid, I did CD21 blood work and my results were 10.9. My doctor said anything over 10 indicated ovulation, and that I DID ovulate at 10.9. She didn't increase my dosage of Clomid for the second round, and I'm 7 weeks today Also, her claims for Clomid were, "If you want to get pregnant and quickly, Clomid is the way to go." Also worth noting, I have PCOS and don't ovulate on my own (without Clomid). FX for you!

So clomid helps strong ovulation and progesterone helps implantation? And blood work on day 3 and 21 should tell the RE which route to take, if any?
Just trying to get all my thoughts and questions organized for tomorrow's appt...
bananas / 9229 posts
@organicmama: Sorta... CD3 blood work looks at your eggs and hormone levels: http://www.babymed.com/fertility-problems/cycle-day-3-fertility-testing CD21 blood work (or 5-7DPO) confirms O and checks progesterone levels. It doesn't necessarily tell your RE what route to take but gives you a good starting point on things. Clomid helps people O who don't naturally OR for those that too, it basically "intensifies" it. Progesterone doesn't help implantation but is usually given to people TTC with LP defects (short LPs, spotting sometimes) and sometimes to newly pregnant who have low progesterone levels. Here is a breakdown of all sorts of testing: http://www.babymed.com/infertility/infertility-testing-and-infertility-tests

@HeartAbandoned: You are never late to share info! So the second round of clomid did the trick for you?
@organicmama: Good questions. Please take notes tomorrow and report back here asap. Good luck!
@LindsayInNY: Aren't you just a walking ball of info lately?! You are awesome! Tell me more!

@MrsMcD: Yep, #2 did the trick. I think being on vacation during week 1 of the TWW didn't hurt, either!

As for me, didn't get lucky last night and was feeling discouraged. I am trying to think positive but it is hard to stay in that mind frame...what do you ladies do to keep your spirits up?
Send me good vibes for better luck over the weekend!

@organicmama: Hoping the appointment goes well!
@MamaCate: Sometimes I make a list of the silver linings of not being pregnant: being able to enjoy the summer without morning sickness, being able to enjoy things I won't be able to when I am not pregnant, a March birthday is better than February. I also thought that having a baby in March or later is better not to worry about flu season.
CD12 and not feeling optimistic. DH told me that I was uber sensitive to smells each month I have been on the progesterone. My temp went down slightly, but I think there might be an issue with the thermometer. If I get a BFN, I might exchange it. (CVS will exchange CVS products that aren't working.) This is the third month with progesterone. If progesterone were the issue, how long would it take to work? It seems most REs do each thing for 3 months, then move on. I did try a few other new things this month (conceive plus, probiotic, and haven't worked during most of TWW). I don't want IUI or IVF (and DH's SA was fine so I doubt that an IUI would be helpful). This is cycle 15. I am feeling super discouraged and contemplating talking to DH about giving up if I don't get a BFP tomorrow. Sorry for the ramblings- I am SO FRUSTRATED!

So ladies...I woke up this morning and just wanted.to.test. I have no idea why, because I usually wait for AF. I'm 11-12 days post-O.
And here's what I got...
I am SO SCARED! Please cross your fingers, pray, etc for us that this a sticky baby...I can hardly believe this is real and am having trouble believing we might actually have a baby on the way...

@dc yoga bee: yeah I think seeing someone else is a good plan! You can't really confirm O without an ultrasound, that will check for a CL, lutenised lining and free pelvic fluid. Although 5.2 is prob fine 4dpo it would not be good at all at 7dpo. Sometimes doctors need to use their brains!

@AmeliaBedilia: Huge ((hugs)). I'm pulling so hard for You. This can be such an emotional journey

@sapphire: OH MY GOD! What a wonderful and amazing Friday morning surprise. Those are beautiful lines! Your early ovulation this month really gave me a good feeling. Enjoy a happy and healthy pregnancy sweetness. When is the EDD? And tell us what this cycle was all about. Xxx
@organicmama: I hope your appointment is going well and you have a game plan!

@sapphire: OMG, congrats! Please give us the scoop:
What # cycle was this?
What was your timing?
What did you do differently?
Thanks!

@dc yoga bee: Thanks!
I just went for a run- 10 minutes, walked 3, then ran 10 more. I struggled a bit, but about what I would expect with it being hot and that I haven't been running that much. If I were KU, wouldn't I have struggled more?
pomegranate / 3595 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: thanks for the idea about silver linings...I will have to try that!
I am sorry that you are having such a hard time. As far as working out, I think some people feel differently sooner than others, or at least have more significant symptoms. When I got KU with my first LO, I literally did not feel any different and didn't test until like day 38 because I had a long cycle the month before, had wasted tests, and FF didn't think I was pregnant. So not feeling different doesn't necessarily mean you are out! Hugs to you!

@sapphire: yahooooo! Congrats!
I've just spent the last hour catching up a week's worth of posts here, girls. What a great way to "end the story" - with a BFP
FF FINALLY gave me crosshairs, so I'm now 7dpo. Luckily, I could tell I'd ovulated, so I've been doing my progesterone cream all week. I ovulated sooooo late (cd23!?!?) again. I have very little hope this cycle. Super stressed and this possible- PCOS thing has me worried, with zero expectations of conception. I need to see my doc and get more info, and I also have an appointment with the fertility clinic in August. That's my update...
And now for news that REALLY matters....
I can't wait!- Me and my man are getting away next weekend to Calgary Stampede! It's a huge city-wide party and rodeo. It's where DH grew up. Should be loads of fun! He made a joke and asked if I was planning to be a "buckle bunny". Hahaha!
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=buckle+bunny
Ummmm... No...
honeydew / 7295 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I didn't notice any fatigue until a couple weeks after my BFP.
@LIL BEAN: congrats on 7DPO! FX for a positive in a few days. I'm not a rodeo person at all but I hope you guys have fun and that takes your mind off of things. Some good summer fun always helps.

@LIL BEAN: Where do people come up with this stuff LMAO @ Buckle Bunny!

@MrsMccarthy: @dc yoga bee: oh I'm not a rodeo girl either! Feels like I'm visiting a small-town Hicksville type of party! Cracks me up.

@LIL BEAN: nice! So it will be a new cultural exploration. Even better. Report back to us. I'm sure it will be a fun and bizarre experience.

@sapphire: congrats to you!!! Beautiful BFP!
So I am just leaving the RE. Wow. First of all I love her. She talked to me for almost an hour! First order of business was my estrogen. It was so low at my 7 dpo bloodwork. (64) She was looking for cliser to 150-200 She said my progesterone was satisfactory (10.6) but she thinks I must have just had a surge right before the test (apparently we have surges every 90 mins). So she prescribed me clomid.
I guess I feel happy?? I'm kinda sad that my body isn't performing like it should. But at least there's a solution! Anyone have any clomid success stories?
I also asked her about Mucinex and she said it doesn't really help. It only thins out the mucus. But that it doesn't hurt either so go right ahead! Lastry she talked about the importance of keeping a BMI no lower than 23-24. (Mine is 23.something) And following a low glycemic diet. So I will be go ogling more on that.
That about sums it up I guess!
