to a local gay couple who are having a baby this month. olive decided that she hated frozen breastmilk a while ago, and since I've kept it in a standalone freezer it is still good. Makes me happy that it will go to good use!
Did you have any extra breastmilk left? What did you do with it?

That is amazing!!! I only have about 40ozs in the freezer and I doubt she'd take it. I need to find a home for it soon

Yay!! Isn't it a great feeling?!
I gave the milk we could not use when I started my TED to a local couple who was adopting. Providing breastmilk was very important to them and it felt so good to give it to another baby in need. We have also gained a friendship with the couple! I will admit I was slightly saddened to let it go. I worked hard for that 1100 oz and it was apart of me somehow.

This is so wonderful to read! My freezer stash is pretty pathetic, but I would love to donate it if LO doesn't use it for whatever reason.

I donated a few gallons (seriously, gallons, don't ask) to the local Milk Bank. I loved knowing that my extra milk was going to preemies and at-risk newborns who needed it most!

@LittleGBee: Awesome! I never thought about breastmilk in terms of gallons before, but I just did the math on what I donated and it is mind boggling to think it was that many gallons! Oh my goodness...

@anbanan15: I know, right? My husband is an engineer so he totally geeked out adding up the total number of ounces and converting it to gallons. That, and I felt so much more accomplished every time I went to the store and passed by a gallon of milk.

That's awesome!!! I really, really want to donate milk. I belong to a couple bfeeding groups where I live {in the San Diego area} and there are always people looking for donations. I haven't gone back to work yet so I want to make sure I'm able to maintain supply first... if I can keep up my current supply ~ I'm def. going to do it

That awesome! I hope my supply stays up and I will donate some once LO doesn't need so much. I know of a family that has 5 kids under 7 and the mom unexpectedly passed away. They are collecting BM for their baby and I would love to give them some.

That is great!
I had about 400 oz in my stash that had some dairy in it that my son couldn't drink. I wanted to donate it, but my husband was uncomfortable with donating, even though I don't have any health risks. It went down the drain, literally : (
