My 6 month old is in a convertible car seat & now I'm wondering how to keep him warm this winter....
I clearly cannot put him in a fleece "snowsuit" or heavy jacket. I'm wondering if they make over the car seat type bundle-me's for convertible seats? How do you keep your baby warm on the way out of the house to the car and while in the car?

We live in a temperate climate so keep in mind this tip is coming from someone who never sees temps below 35:
We would just have them in a sweater (and hat, if necessary) and then put a warm blanket on them while we were in the car. They each have thick warm blankets that we keep in the car during the winter. Then put on heavy jacket once we got to our destination.

I put her in her heavy coat (fleece) and unzip it once we get in the car. Then I fasten the harness under the coat and button it over top. If it's really cold, I add a thick blanket on top of her once she's hooked in.

I always kept a blanket in my car and used that. She would occasionally toss it off, but by then the car was warm anyway.

I wrapped her in a blanket to carry her to the car, then I did the same thing as @avivoca with her coat and put the blanket over her lap.

I would dress my son up, bring him into the car, take off his coat, put him in and secure him. Then I'd have to unsecure him and then put the coat on again before we left the car. We only rode in the car on the weekends, but I am sure this would have driven me mad if I had to do it every single day, multiple times.
I would look for something fleece, plus a blanket once you're in the car.

I made a fleece car seat poncho (something like this: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/176307984/hooded-car-seat-poncho?ref=market) So I'd throw it over him, carry him out to a (preheated) car, and then buckle him in and tuck a blanket over him that I kept in the car.

We just do fleece and a hat - and RUN to the door- haha
There is no way I am putting on and taking off jackets everyday twice a day!

We do a fleece jacket (http://www.columbia.com/boys-steens-mt-ii-fleece---infant-WN6760.html), hat, mitten, and then a fleece blanket in the car.

We do heavy fleece coats or the thin Patagonia down sweaters. Both kids get down blankets on top in the car.

I just put her in fleece of some sort (sleepers for now since she's still itty), and wrap her in a blanket for the transfer. I tuck the blanket around her once she's in.

My MIL made a carseat blanket with slits for the straps, so it stayed attached and would fold over him. I love it!
