@2farmmoms: haha, yeah, I live in a city and I'm part of an HOA. I think our HOA wouldn't allow us to get goats! But they are cute to look at.

I don't know if this will work, but it's a video of their first trip outside this morning.

@Adira: Oh, no, I'd imagine the HOA might have a problem with that. In that case I'd encourage you to find a local goat dairy and ask if you can visit when their kidding season is. That's what inspired me to get goats-I had a friend who took me to her friend's dairy in February when they had over 200 kids at the same time. I got to go in the kid barn and sit with them while they galloped around and climbed in my lap. I was in love.

@Adira: That was Sassafras, the big one. She's a bit more active and stronger than the other two. In the video, Spicy (the boy) had already headed back into the barn for a nap. They don't last long at this age, just like human babies!

@2farmmoms: Thanks for the tip! I bet Xander would love that too.

@Adira: You may be on the wrong coast, but this is the farm I went to: http://harleyfarms.com/
It's south of San Francisco along the coast, and is worth a trip if you're ever in the area. It's such a cool place. It's become very well known as it was featured in Sunset Magazine a couple years ago.

@2farmmoms: haha, yep, I'm on the East Coast! I'll have to look into what's around me.

Here are the two bucklings born yesterday afternoon! Same very easy birth. I'm getting spoiled by these two does! Both boys are doing great, they were up and nursing within 20 minutes of hitting the ground. Amazing.

Oh and if anyone wants to give name suggestions, fire away! We're sticking with food or something related to food. The other three are Lupine Hill Sassafras, Lupine Hill Mango Chutney, and Lupine Hill Cajun Spice.

This last photo is Basil and Mango (2 weeks old) checking out the new arrivals. We built the wall with wire instead of solid wood so when we separate kids from moms in a couple weeks at night, they'll be able to see and hear each other, just not nurse.

@2farmmoms: gahhh, so sweet!! Seriously, this makes me want goats. Out of curiosity, why do you separate them when you do?

@LovelyPlum: they're so fun. I love our goats. They're our favorite pets.

I am JUST seeing this entire thread. AMAZING. They're all so adorable, I'll send you my address via PM, fedex me all the babies, kthnx.

@.twist.: Haha! We think they're pretty adorable too. It's going to be very hard not to keep them all! Two will be going to my father in law and two will be for sale. My friend might be taking them but we're not sure yet. We're keeping the little red buckling as a companion for our buck.

@2farmmoms: Alas, I'm sure they are all spoken for, how couldn't they be? So dang cute. They wouldn't fit very well in a fedex box either, and my husband would be SUPER angry if we got a goat in the mail. I Suppose you can keep them.

@.twist.: actually, they'd fit great! The two smallest ones were under 2 lbs when they were born. The biggest was just 4#.

@2farmmoms: Goats sort of freak me out, but these are sooo sweet looking. I kind of want one, too. I think my Australian Shepherd would appreciate a goat to herd, don't you? I think the new little guys should be Nutmeg and Cinnamon!

@twodoghouse: ours are so so sweet. They're like dogs, they mostly just want food and to be petted. The babies already jump up into our laps. Ours are small too, maybe 60 lbs and around 2' tall.

The twins had their first outdoor adventure last night, and met their new cousins at the same time. After about 5 minutes they were exhausted!
