What do you do with children's books dust jackets? They fall off of our books and I just end up taking them off. But now I have a stack of dust jackets. What do you do with them?

My daughter (2) removes them. I haven't decided if I should keep them or toss them!

I throw them away! I feel like we won't reach a point where we would be able to use them until they are much older, and by then the books they are on won't be ones they want to read anyway.

If the book jacket cover is identical to what's printed on the hard cover underneath I get rid of it. If it's different I keep it in a stack in LO's closet. I don't really know why!

I have a stack of dust jackets in my closet. I take them off immediately. I only keep the jackets of books that I feel like I'll want to pass down/on.

I keep them in a stack in a basket. I take them off immediately when we get new books.

I had a stack of them in DD's closet. My husband threw them away when we moved. That solved all of my waffling about what to do with them!

Whether it's at home or in my classroom, I toss the book jackets. I can't stand them, and they get ruined easily.

I take them off and save them. Maybe we'll put them back on when the kids are older?

I'm also keeping them in the closet but this thread has made me wonder why - I'm going to go throw them out right now!

This whole thread gives me anxiety! Ha!
But dd is only 18 months and I keep all books except for board books out of reach currently. I feel like books aren't complete without dust jackets and hopefully that's something I can instill in her too.....

@Miss Ariel: that's how I feel, too but I HATE dust jackets with such a passion! If I want to resell the books someday, I would want them to have their jackets. But I hate keeping them. Ugh.
