I haven't been to many dohls. What do people do about moving from one thing to another...

We didnt have an mc. We didnt really do any of the traditional stuff. No dohljabi or anything

I'm not Korean, but I have been to a fair share of dohls (nothing too fancy though). Usually a family member, friend, or even a church member would take on the informal MC duties.

We just announced once most people were there that people could hit up the buffet. Then we announced that we were doing the doljabi, and after that since people were gathered around we cut the cake.

We had a cousin of ours do the mc'ing. It's nice having someone announce things. He announced the prayer, lunch, led the happy birthday song, and the dohljabbi. Can you ask someone to volunteer?

Either I or my husband just stood of and announced things as they happened.

My friends didn't have MCs for their kids dol. I think you can totally get by with a friend, family member or yourself to announce.
